As i rode out through the gates of Cear, clad in a large brown cloak to cover my bronze plate armor, i didn't think the guards noticed me. Hopefully, tey had just taken me for a normal commoner and paid me no mind at all...
Sammils words still rang in my head as i spurred my mount and let the wind take the brown cloak.
My own red one and my armor were once again revealed now that it was more safe... there were no guards here, and once i reached Thralls Gate, i could ride in a large circle around it.
As i rode and the wind played with my hair, i heard Sammils words again in my head...
The Vanguard... my friends... Enyeto... even the Knights of the Argentum Vigilo...
Everyone had played an important part in this plan of theirs...
It was a god plan. And it was my best chance by far.
First off... the Vanguard would need to arrest me to ensure that i would survive until the trial they had planned. The Knights would try to convince Queen Nelina or Princeps Siril to be the judge, or at least participate in the trial... The fact that it might not be a Lochwarian who judged me could more than likely save my life. I knew the Queen was fair, and i had faith in Siril...
I told myself that it was the wind that made my eyes moist as i thought of the next things Sam had told me;
The Vanguard would act as witnesses, and they would support me as far as i understood... they would send someone to speak to Lady Nightwig in an attempt to make her show up and tell the truth that coud not be neglected if it came from a dragons mouth... and the last thing... the last thing he told me both hurt me and filled me with joy... If possible, they would ask Enyeto, my brother in everything but blood, to contact and summon my lost love as a witness in the trial...
The thought that i might see Linnea one final time before i could join her myself was... odd... it hurt to think of it... but at the same time, i knew in my heart that i wanted to see her again...
Though i had gone to Grassfold some time ago and laid my past to rest, i could never forget her...
That the Vanguard also wanted to include Lady Nightwig in their plan... could prove to be either hard or impossible.
Knowing the great dragons disapproval of humans, i had little hope that she would show up.
"But hey... who knows?" i said to the wind as i pictured the dragon in my head.
"She and I have things in common... so maybe she will come?"
The thought of Nightwig filled me with pride and a sense of honor... but it also reminded me of the Lochwarians...
They had been there the last time i had come to talk with her... And i might have discovered the true reason they wanted me dead...
My eyes flashed to green as i remembered the face of the man who spoke to her.
"Thou shalt not have such a power so thou can abuse it..." i whispered.
I continued riding, and as Thralls Gate appeared in the horizon, i turned my horse a bit to ride in as large a circle around the place as i could.
If i could, i would never allow them to be able to abuse the power they were seeking, for i knew what they were...
I also knew that the only way i could stop it from happening, was to succeed in the trial and become something that even Nightwig herself could be proud of.

A Race Towards Destiny...
“They say dragons never truly die. No matter how many times you kill them.”
Re: A Race Towards Destiny...
The hooded and blurred man stood for a second before Darius, His face was hard to detect because it was covered by thick blurring mist, and with whispering tone he said on fluent draconic(//translation):
"The Kind sends their regards, sir Darius. Here two scrolls, if you will use one you will be able to decipher the second. Much respect, and success to You in Your struggle!"
He puts two scrolls on the ground just in front of Darius, bows gracefully, and casts some, seemingly illusion spell, and disappears.
One of the scrolls have big inscription - old ancient Draconic script - seems bit modified, but still quite clear for Darius- cipher: "To see through Mist", and second one is rather big - but totally empty.... big piece of plain clean paper and small scroll with odd sentence now lying before Darius on the floor...
