Aly is what is known as a "wild child"
At age 5, his paternal parents took him to the woods near Lendose, and left him there, tying his leg to a tree with vine-rope. Eventually breaking free, he had to learn the ways of the wild on his own. He learned to hunt, to listen, to commune, to forage, and more as a youth, out of necessity. Having no contact, but the occasional squirrel or bird, he grew up to be somewhat strange. That all changed.

One day, he was foraging in the forest near Lendose, when a middle aged human couple happened to be walking near their property. They spotted Aly, nearly naked, hair frizzed and filled with leaves and twigs, wandering the wild, gracefully bending down Quince trees for their fruit. At first, they didnt know how to react. The lady, Leyana, began to approach him as a wild animal, and he sure enough reacted as one would.

Over the week they kept seeing him on their property. The man, Marous, decided it would be a good idea to leave out food for him. Indeed he did, and Aly kept returning, each time less shy of the couple.

After nights of contemplation, Leyana suggested they might adopt him, and attempt to domesticate him. The next day this was their goal. It took weeks to get him into their home, and weeks to get him used to being indoors. It wasn't until age 16 that they found him. 11 years in the wilderness does strange things to a child. Leyana, a respected arcanist, had sufficient plans and care to domesticate him. Marous, a farmer and gardener, had plenty experience breaking in wild beasts.

Over the years, they taught him. Leyana taught him language. Marous taught him to hunt with tools (bow). He slowly adapted, and though a sense of wildness is immediately present about him, he more or less adapted. He always progessed extremely fast in his studies with his adopted mother, but preferred to be in the wild, or at least, roaming his fathers land, tending the garden, and the farm.

Being a half-elf, little is known about his prior identity. He knows nothing of his maternal parents. His adopted mother has suspicion that he could be descended from an Elf of Rian - a topic she spent considerable time studying in school.

Now an adult, the world seems to be open for Aly, and his past doesn't seem to haunt his future - at least, not much.
