Keep in mind that at any point in the next month, that Obsidian can cahnge what the Minimum specs are for the game. I am pretty certain those are what drives the test. If you haven't used the SRL before, it needs to install an ActiveX app on your web browser. It's safe, I have used them before.

On Lands of Algia forums, I also wrote:Darnit. The machine at my dad's house passes minimum and reccomended on everything except video card, at which it fails completely. I suppose I could nag my dad to get a new video card . . .

Video card is a GeForce 5300 instead of 5500...SO CLOSE!!!

I could use some extra RAM to meet the recommended requirements instead of minimum, too. That shouldn't be a problem though.

Uh...there are video cards out there for laptops, right?

I'd fail everything right now. When my new baby comes, we'll see. I don't suppose I'll fail the video card since I'm getting a 7900 nVidia..

negative, you cannot replace laptop GFX cards as they are built onto the motherboard as opposed to PC's which are removable either PCI, PCI-e or oldskool with AGP. thats why laptops are pooey when they get old coz you basically cant salvage anything except for the DVD drive

Okay, the computer-dumb monkey is scratching his head as he tries to think of where the heck a video card is.

I'd imagine it would be connected to the monitor or something, but I don't have a reasonable clue. So, where is the video card, anyway?

if you pull you case appart you will see a board that is the biggest of them all and has alot of other boards/chipsets/fans and junk all plugged into it. then you will most likely have the second biggest chip in there is your video card, also yes the monitor cable does plug directly into your video card so if you turn off your computer and unplug the power supply cable. the monitor cable will lead you to it.

if however it is not a removable card and is just plugged into the motherboard (the really big chip) then you have onboard graphics and can just simply buy a vidoe card and stick it in the PCI slot.....

on second thaught take the computer to a computer store and tell the man you want an ATi radeon 9600 pro AGP socket card for around $95 and its 256Mb and correct me if im wrong the same card as lankycheese has. (possibly his is the newer model as its PCI-e not AGP) point being for $95 that card is well above the minimum requirements and also above reccomended

the Video card is connected to your system board, also known as the motherboard, on desktop computers, you'd find it at the end of the cable that runs from your monitor to the PC itself, usually removable, on a monitor, its built in and isn't removable.

haha thats understandible, im getting 2 video cards in my PC at $950 each but each to his own i guess.

I used to have that card but now I've got a GeForce 6600 GT. The 128 meg of RAM its got is better then the 256 the old one had. ^^

And is that $95 Aus or US?
