Battletide
Battletide
Battletide seems to be two spells in 1. It has the original NWN1 battletide spell (except bonuses don't seem to help party anymore, only negatives hurt enemies) AND it has a personal haste effect tacked on.
Often when I get dispelled and it says "Battletide dipselled" it will dispel the haste but leave the aura. Not sure if the the actual malus to enemies keeps working, but I keep the +2 AB and AC. Then if they dispel a second time I will lose the actual +2 AB/AC.
But not fully sure. Seems like sometimes I can lose it all in one dispel - maybe that is a mords. But haste always goes before aura.
Furthermore, for some odd reason even when not dispelled the haste function seems to last shorter than the rest of the aura almost like it isn't being extended - only the other part of the spell is (I always use extended battletide).
Lastly, the haste seems to disappear suddenly and for no apparent reason sometimes. It doesn't seems as reliable as the haste spell - this is disconcerting.
Anyone have any experience with Battletide either the script or as a player? Anyone have any info. to share or any idea what is going on?

I have not noticed the multiple effects being dispelled separately but they might be. The haste effect is not supposed to be a personal haste. It is only supposed to add an extra attack per round. No increased movement speed or additional ac. Are you getting an actual haste? If so that is definately a bug.
I would not be surprised if there is a problem with the Multiple effect implementation because there are known bugs with other spells that add multiple effects. Spells that add temp hp's and attack bonus' are disappearing as soon as the temp hp's are used up, instead of lasting the entire duration as they are supposed to. Maybe battletide is broken in the opposite manner.

Battletide is not inherently "bugged" IMO. Rather their implementation does not exactly jibe with what the manual or spell info. says. Clearly, due to time constraints or what-have-you they decided that simply adding a haste effect was the way they were going to have to implement things.
You get the battletide effect as described - but in lieu of the extra attack you get a FULL personal haste spell including extra move, ab, ac and the extra attack. Most of the time it does work fairly well - but does seem to have someproblems. The bugged part isnt the full haste effect IMO, that is a design decision. The bugged part is how the two parts of the spell work together.
But yes, +3 net AB, +1 AB, +50% move, full AB extra attack, +2 all saves and damage and THEN -2 enemy AB, -2 enemy saves, -2 enemy damage on failed will save as a persistent aura ios one heclk of a buff when it ios working.

I don't know how you are determining this but I just cast battletide on my cleric and he did not get increased speed and he did not get +4 ac. If you are getting these effects, it is a bug.UltimaBoB wrote:Battletide is not inherently "bugged" IMO. Rather their implementation does not exactly jibe with what the manual or spell info. says. I don't know. It works exactly like the description for me. Is it possible you are in a group with someone who is actually hasting themself? Haste is a party spell now so everyone in the area of the caster gets the haste effect. I just logged onto another module and cast battletide only. I got no movement speed increase, a +2 to ab (+2 circumstance listed in the description) and 1 extra attack per round.
If there is a bug with this spell, I'm not getting it. Have you logged onto Das 2, cast it on yourself and verified that you are getting haste?

The green icon and the "hasted" listed at the bottom of the character sheet do not mean the same as the spell haste.
A Barbarian gets dr, a dd gets dr, several spells grant dr. They all have the same icon and the same 1-liner on the character sheet. NWN2 uses the same icons and descriptions for a number of very different things. In this case..the "haste" effect is used only because you get an extra attack per round- and this haste description is what the game engine uses to ensure that the extra attack from a "real" haste does not stack with the one from battletide. It does not add movement speed or ac like the spell.
Just log in, cast battletide with your character sheet open and see exactly what it is granting you. I have done it on 3 different mods since your original post and it has worked the same each time. An extra attack, no increased movement speed, no ac bonus or ab bonus beyond that described in the battletide description.
As for your initial issue about part of the spell being dispelled but not all of it, this makes sense if your haste is coming from another source(like a caster in the party). In that case the haste is being dispelled and the battletide is not.
We have beaten this horse plenty. It works exactly as it should for me but apparently not for you. You should submit a bug report if you are convinced the spell is giving you an actual "haste" or if you are getting part of the spell effects dispelled, but not all of them.
Good Luck

Im also getting hasted all the time i cast batletide. Dont know if i get the ac bonus but, for sure, i always get the 50% + movement.
I have not tested the related dispell issue, but sometimes my 50% speed wears off and i still get the rest of the benefits of batletide as a persistent spell

I ran more tests after seeing the additional comments. I was never able to reproduce the added movement speed. I tried on other mods and no speed increase. I tried it on Das and ran against 3 other people while I was under battletide - wasn't faster than any of them.
One thing that only happened on Das was the issue that Fabianorp mentioned. When I cast only battletide-the entire spell wore off right when it should have. But when I cast battletide along with other buffs, the haste icon disappeared when it was supposed to but I kept all the benefits and the aura of the spell. I thought maybe it was just a graphical glitch, so I went out and hit a few wolves and I was getting the added ab bonus in the scrolling combat text indicating the spell was still in effect. At level 10 Battletide should only last 60 seconds for me but it never ended on its own(unless it was the only spell I cast). I don't know why that would be specific to Das but I couldn't reproduce that anywhere else.
