FDA set to OK food from cloned animals

Hmm . . . personally, I'd eat the cloned food, but I at least want a label on the package so if I ever decide I don't want to eat it, I know what not to eat.

Good. It's time people stop freaking out over legitimate science that can benefit humanity.

BR, I agree.

If we can solve world hunger by cloning an orange, clone the damn orange.

Somehow I doubt it has little to do with solving world hunger, and everything to do with increasing profit margins.

But I'm just cynical.

Profits and religion.

I can't imagine the Catholics like the idea too much.

I'm sure a lot of this is profit based.

But the fact is that being able to clone food, and even in the long-term, perhaps even organs, could save millions of lives.

How about we send that cloned meat to Australia to test it in the real world for a couple of decades. If it turns out that it wasn't good for us afterall, nothing will be lost.

guiltless meat

As a semi-vegetarian, I'm waiting for the day when they can grow meat without a nervous system attached!

What is a "semi-vegetarian"? Isn't that the same as being "half-dead"?

Solving world hunger isn't really such a good idea anyway.

Unless we begin to control breeding.... and nobody wants that.

I don't eat mammals. Fish are fair game, and birds are just well-evolved dinosaurs, they had their chance for world conquest and blew it.

I thought they already tried that with the population of Alabama?
I'm always right. I'm also a jerk. It's not my fault you can't get over the latter to see the former.
