Public or Private LJ's?
Link will take you to a document which contains mentions of sexual content, thus, probably not Eve safe.
The issue at hand, per the poll, is this. Person A posts information about Person B in their Livejournal or Blog. Do you think that Person B has a right to sue Person A for posting something publicly about them? Regardless of what it is?
The article talks about two Congressional aides who had a relationship, and one of them posted the details of such relationship online. The other half of the now defunct relationship is suing the one that posted.
I'd love to hear other opinions on this, I know many of us do have blogs or LJ's.
My own opinion, because I'm a writer, it would probably depend on what information was posted--if its similar to this situation (in the link I provided), I probably wouldn't sue. I think its rather absurd that the gentleman is suing the girl, but that's just me.

Hmmm. I feel like anyone with ANY sense knows that you take information found on the net with a grain of salt. Especially something like a webblog or journal.
I also think the louder you yell you didn't do it, the more guilty you sound.
Now, do they have the right to sue? Sure, it's America. Should they sue? Sounds like a waste of time to me.

I think that regardless of being a writer or not, your opinion is really just... common sense. And we share it... at least in this matter.
Besides, it's obvious what is this all about:

LOL! Yeah, that's true too.
She puts their sex lives in a LJ.
He sues her for what? Slander? Libel?
IMO, LJ and Blogs fall under free speech in the USA.
I don't see how he would be successful, so I'm unsure why he's trying.

Freedom of speech -aslong- as it is not insulting anybody on purpose. The term "freedom of speech" is used -way- too losely by a lot of people. Yes, we are free to write and say whatever we like unless we are genuinly and purposely insultive.Vahene wrote: IMO, LJ and Blogs fall under free speech in the USA.
If you don't like it; don't read it. If you don't like the people using it; avoid them. Ultimately it will either be your gain or loss, but you'll never find out and eh, it's your, free choice to make, methinks.
I'd just like to see MORE COMMON SENSE and LOGICS FOR ALL!

I'm going to assume you are worried about friends suing you. Cause unless your friends are seamstresses I don't see much of a worry about them sewing you.Crimson Knightmare wrote:LOL its so funny.. I'm always right. I'm also a jerk. It's not my fault you can't get over the latter to see the former.
