I’m a level 8 wizard, I appreciate soloing, though it seems I can’t solo crap now since the only 3 areas I know I can enter are the bugbear cave, the wash and fold thing, and the tower. And since I’m a wizard, I can’t solo those areas. Does a solo-able area exit that a level 8 wizard can attempt?

Dasaria for the most part is geared towards party play, as far as I’m aware. The reason for this is to encourage RP more; despite the server being open to all styles of play (within the rules, of course), role-play and grouping are encouraged.

The majority of areas therefore will require a group, even if one has no inclination towards the role-playing aspects of the game. There are instances where areas can be soloed, for sure, but these usually are achieved by min/maxed characters. At level 8 as a wizard I doubt that there are a lot of areas intended for your level range that you are able to solo.

The solution is simple, but one you may not like – group. It is hard to provide a conclusive answer as to the existence of solo-able areas, as in theory all of them can be, but it depends on character build.

If you roleplay a non-social character grouping can be... difficult and a bit OOC. You can however solo these areas at level 8, using polymorph and str/con/dex buffs, ghostly visage, mage armor, shield etc (even better if you have extend spell). Troll form is best for kalem... As for the bugbear cave, you can polymorph you were to the end but to kill the end guy is a little trickier... let ya figure that one out on your own.

das1 was much more solo friendly, . Has there been a real decision to move toward a less-solo frindly world?

It would be a shame 'cause i like to solo. But I can cope, 'cause I like to party up too :)

Das1 was full of outdoor areas that monsters could wander around in. Das2 can't do that as much because this game is a resource hog.

I like to solo too Trinny :) It's very important to me. I have a hard time scheduling regular games so if I can't solo I can't play much.

The emphasis on grouping mainly stems from the need to deal with a fairly crowded server. If you have 20 people on, and 5 quests, it is necessary to put them more or less 4 to a quest or else there will be a queue.

So, it's mainly a way to allocate people over a limited number of quests. It is my sincere hope that as the content fills out, there will be more paths for solo advancement. But from a pure time management perspective, group quests have to come first until there is a viable path to 20.

Thats my take anyway!

I think that's why soloing is important to any good online experience. Sometimes you just won't be able to find a group and having something to do while waiting helps keep you interested instead of logging off.

The last time Rhode tried to join in with a group it took him over an hour. Of course I think his reputation is catching up with him.

He hasn't met my warlock yet. :)

I wonder what happens when you have one sarcastic person meet another who also happens to be very anti-social?
