Yeah, I know. Some people actually think that not everyone in finland is a drunkard. Sad how wrong they are

We were thinking yesterday evening about our upcoming group setup, and we had to quit before midnight as 2 out of us four were too drunk...

You say you want a revolution?
Well... you know, we all want to change the world.

But when you talk about destruction...

Don't you know?
You can count me out.

I am one of those people who believe they "live in the world’s best democracy", so pardon me for my delusional ignorance. But filling the streets with bodies? You know what? Things are just not that bad.

You may like the results of the last election. You might not. You may hate the presidential election but like the congressional election - or vice versa. But the results were legitimate.

There is a deeper issue here. We must decide how we are going to operate this country, and specifically how we will deal with disagreements. And there are two competing methods we can choose from.

1) Discuss and debate like civilized people
2) Kill each other in the streets

People who know me well know how anti-authoritarian I am. It's unlikely you will find anyone as independent and freedom loving as I am. I am, like the author, a firm believer in the right to keep weapons specifically so that we can revolt against a corrupt government - should be become necessary.

You might think I would be a natural rebel, the first to call for rebellion. But death is not something to be taken so lightly. It's hard to take the author seriously. Rebellion is a last resort. We are not even close to there yet.

No, he doesn't doubt the legitimacy of the election. He doubts the legitimacy of democracy. There weren't any canceled election - there wasn't anything wrong with the process. He just didn't like the result.

So if we aren't going to respect the results of an election, why even vote? What is he even advocating here? Rule by violence?

You know what the real problem with American politics is that there is too much gamesmanship, too much show. It's a epic clash between heroes and villains. People dehumanize those with whom they disagree. This saddens me greatly.

What we is simple, but it's difficult:
We need calm.
We need patience.
We need respect for each other.

These are things that everyone knows, or should know. But they are very difficult to practice. We should each strive for continual self-improvement in these matters.

You say you got a real solution?
Well you know, we'd all love to see the plan.
You ask me for a contribution?
Well you know, we're doing what we can.....

The end result is that the uninformed believe the USA is full of twinky eating, gun-toting, fat racists. when this is not the case. I've seen Australian's portrayed as dumb, beer drinking illiterate yobbos, lazying around waiting for the next bushfire.

Some media outlets like to tow a trendy 'politically correct' line, or feel that bad news sells more than good news. I read a speech by Rupert Murdoch once that he believed the greatest risk to world peace in the 21st century will be ignorance.
*Looks left... looks right...* We don't have anybody like that in the US... (Bluff check, opposed Sense Motive. My Bluff check was 18 (1d20+1))
