Welcome Home (PWC, Events, DMs, Patch)

Post by Wired »

Welcome Home!

The Dasaria II team is pleased to announce several exciting changes to our gameworld, including new areas, new quests, new DMs, an upgrade to the expansion-compatible version of the game, plus a series of serverwide events planned for the months of October and November.

A copy of our latest PWC file can be obtained here. Simply unrar this file into your My Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2/pwc folder, and you are ready to direct connect to us at cear.dasaria2.com or reach us through GameSpy in the PW Story category. This file is all that is necessary to access our new and existing content areas.

For Dasaria II campaign-followers, this release includes important updates necessary for players to fully participate in a series of serverwide events planned for the end of October and into November, as well as additional soon-to-be-revealed content. We are also introducing a persistent banking system and persistent PvP scorekeeping within Cear’s new Arena (server PvP rules still apply).

We are very pleased to announce the addition of two new members to our Storyline DM team as of this fall, who will participate in the overall unfolding of Dasaria II campaign, as well as individual DM and player-initiated storylines and events.

Dasaria II has now upgraded to version 1.10 of the NWN2 game engine, which is fully compatible with Atari’s Mask of the Betrayer game expansion. Users of both the original NWN2 game and the expansion may both participate on the server.

So come back and join us in the storied port city of Cear and its ever-expanding environs, and visit us on our busy Player Forums or Dasaria Wiki!

I love your enthusiasm. Nonetheless, the PWC, as per usual and as noted here, will be available for several days before the server itself upgrades. This intended to give players sufficient time to install the new file.

So you're OK going to work today.

Additionally, there is an optional override for item appearance customization here. You can install it straight away and it should safely do nothing until triggered in the proper context -- It will not cause you to see new options or anything.*

*Note the caveat that we are not responsible if this wrecks items or causes your character to explode in a shower of blood and bone splinters -- especially if you are a MotB user.

Hah! I live in Denmark. No money here! We pay tax and get free computers, Internet and we are handed a weeks supply of fat free food each Saturday. Work is merely something we call it for the sake of foreigners. But it is mandatory. :)

DAMN, I CALLED IN SICK! And am sitting here trying to find the new areas!*

Why do I always get nervous when a * is put in there somewhere?

*Just joking. But I am looking forward to all the candy. You mention a bank? Great!

DASARIA! **** Yeah! (Obscure Team America - World Police reference)

This is some of the best news I've heard in a long time! I bid you farewell, sweet RL life, but you shan't be missed! I've found a substitute :D
Moreover, I advise that Carthage must be destroyed.

That's some brilliant news indeed, and all that shortly after I decided to rejoin Dasaria once again. After taking a break from NWN2, and then (shame on me) trying some other servers, It indeed felt like coming home to visit Cear again.

Keep up the great work!!!

Do not attempt to alter weapons made of exotic metals
Has anyone messed around with armor from special materials to see what will happen?

I updated this morning, but haven't had a chance to play.

(I'm at work.)

Is changing the properties of an item pretty clear cut? I mean, is it
similar to NWN1, or are there instructions we have to follow somewhere?

K

Edit: By properties, I mean 'altering'.

It's easy, there is a pop-up GUI and you can flip through the available looks. Actually that part is (apparently) ready now, but the Server will update the rest of the content over the weekend sometime.

Should we wait until this weekend to start altering, or go to it?

Also, I know altering/customizing in NWN1 cost money - does this as well?
