From my own POV: I am in/one of the leaders of several factions that my associates/members know that I am in those factions, those factions are not in direct opposition to one an other and I've only once had a problem with being in multiple factions in the 3 and a half years I've been playing Das 2.

I'd suggest to other faction leaders if a player is asking to join you faction but already has a char in your oppositions faction deny them joining. If like me your in multipule faction and somehow things kick off between two of your factions decide which of your chars you will play during that particular conflict and stick to it. (Also be wary of the multi accounters that try to join all the factions using different accounts)

I can see both sides to this, the more active players and without being funny the more (well-known players) will get invited to more factions because they are seen as reliable.

But i have also had a problem with my characters (which is entirely my fault) I have neglected my stormbeard character in a way because I have spent so much time with the rp i have had with my other character, so i cant imagine how it would affect players belonging to like 4/5 factions:)

But dont get me wrong, im not saying anyone is, but highlighting my problem as a potential of what can happen, but also it could be related to the time i have with my characters(which as of late has been limited:()

I've always just enjoyed being part of one faction (maybe a second if I have the time for it, like I was with the fleet). I dunno, I like having the mystery of not knowing what the other factions are up to.

this is an amazing topic....!

perhaps if it is discussed further, there might really be an advance and a good change in Das overall..

well maybe will be very sad to some people.. but pleasing to a LOT of others...

will discuss more later..perhaps exposing some good stuff for a better future of Das...

I think it's been discussed all it can be discussed. Faction leaders should pay particular attention to who they admit into their factions, and players be wary of joining opposing factions. Metagaming ruins everyone's fun, and having to pick which character you will be playing in a major conflict is lame. We can all agree on these facts but there is no simple way of enforcing it. If someone really wants to circumvent the system, they can login with a different account, and policing this just sounds like more work for the DMs which could be better used by eviscerating us. Those of us that are members of different factions and use the same account name are presumably doing so in a transparent manor so that others know what we are doing.

Is it something that we all need to be aware of? Yes.
Does it warrant further discussion. I certainly hope not.
