Alternate starting locales would be a welcome change. Right now everything is pretty much centered in one particular area ( North of Cear ). When you create a variety of starting hubs ( different geographic locales ) the players can choose from it increases the depth / feel of the module.
When these hubs are created factions can become more easily established instead of everyone being forced to stop by Ealden's to unload their junk or be forced into conflict because a certain faction's stronghold resides right across the street. ( Its just the fact of lack of variety at the moment, which in time will change).
Territorial disputes can be more provacative when there is a distinct number of areas between the opposing faction strongholds.
What do you think ...

To play devil's advocate: At the same time, I like having everyone centralized one spot. Right now, if I am looking for roleplay, I can log on and there will be 15 people on, and I cannot find anyone. It can at times be work to find roleplay that does not involve going out to dungeons (where as mentioned in another thread, roleplay often disappears for many understandable reasons), I would hate it to be more so.

In the monastery of Rel in Aucklorn, obviously. Just ask Minuvas for the key.TheSilverHammer wrote:So where do they followers of Rei hang out?

You determine your level of involvement.
Allaric Wyvernsbane, Pathfinder / Roark, Trident Brother / Algor, Dasarian Lorax / Ash, Diminutive Polymath / Cornelius Swift, Straight Man

I guess we all agree that some level of pvp is required for the game to get more real. Sure, we don't want it to be abusive. That's why I thought of faction pvp. That would solve many problems.
I agree with both of you. Sometimes a good thing would be DMS to spark the conflict between two guilds. Sometimes that pvp, alliance, war, whatever has to be an effect of roleplay between two characters.

Chris

In Response to Factions (Simply because I always love everyones encouragement to create an opposing faction to Lochwar! Bah!)
The Lochwar Faction is ALWAYS look to add more to its fold, and I work very hard with the Faction members to not only build the faction, but help develop their characters.
If any of you do not know, we recently added a new member to the Faction - who had no general idea where he was going to take his character, and hell, now he's a prophet :p
We find fun for all.
Obviously, there is a growing Dasarian in alot of people who are craving to get away from the "Varanite" view of things. However, I think yet again - the push is to tempt players away from this (false) thinking.

You better believe itMinuvas wrote:Obviously, there is a growing Dasarian in alot of people who are craving to get away from the "Varanite" view of things.
Its all about the hearts and minds of the good people of Cear. And on that account should a conflict be be initiated, then I've seen more people befriend followers of Rel than the vile and wrathful followers of Lochwar. Rel may not have been mentioned, but friendship has grown beyond Lochwar.
Only the priests of Rel decide when such a conflict will take place, and thus control the fate of of the power mongering few who has sold out to Lochwar.
Be joyful! The present regime of terror will soon end.
Be a winner! Say your prayers to Rel today.
And builders, there will need of ruins where a certain church presently is allowed.

Yo Dasaria I don't mean to flame at all but PLEASSSSSEEEE
quit giving away all your plot ideas and character plans away for free on the forum. If you just straight up anounce things on the boards then what fun is the actual RP gonna be?
Make players work for that info, i know its hard, but think of your storyline as your little secret till it actualy happens IC.

Noticed this scripting tool and thought it might add such an option and is being tossed about in this thread
