It's an old one but I'm just coming around to discover it now, the whole thing so far is about Roland of Gilead, the last gunslinger in a world that has moved on, and his epic journey to find the Dark Tower which is believed to be the center of all creation and where he beleives he can finally set things right. It's basically a big struggle between good and evil, demons, and magic in a western fantasy setting. Definately worth picking up.
Great series. My fave. It might be worth mentioning he meets 3 would-be gunslingers from our world along the way to join in his deadly journey. A crackhead, a disabled african american woman, and Evelond.
Hahaha, you read my mind. All I picture when reading about the character Jake is Evelond's avatar.

Okay . . . I'm trying to figure out what that means.

In the meantime . . .

Definitely read Peter Pan. That's advanced reading, believe it or not. AND enjoyable.

The 4 books from Red Dwarf. I'm a huge fan of the series and the books are pretty alright too. They ain't going to tax your head or anything like that, but they're an entertaining lot.

I can recommend some Shakespeare plays. :) Guess what class I'm in this quarter, huh? Hamlet, Henry V, Twelth Night.. The Tempest.. though, I haven't read Othello yet, I'm sure that's groovy too.

You have already read it, Tin, but for those of you who haven't, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'engle is an awesome book.

I'm trying to locate books from the Nightside series by Simon R. Green, but the stores around here never have the first one.

He is my all time favorite author.

Anything by J.D. Robb or Janet Evanovich (I read her Stephanie Plum series).. and for those that don't know, J.D. Robb is Nora Roberts, but that's the penname she uses for her mystery/suspense series. Good books to rip through when you're bored.

I still need to get Feet of Clay, my brother had it but it looked like a big book (I was 12) with small writing so I passed it by.
