Which I've long hated, but hey, I'm giving it another go.

What should I watch. By watch I mean download. By download I mean pay for it of course. By pay I mean free.

Ermm... Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust was always good. I'd recommend it because it's an anime with very western content, sort of like a stepping stone. It's also my favourite anime film.

The first anime film I ever saw was Princess Mononoke~ It's a lovely film.

Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. Both titles are episodic of about thirty chapters each.

Everything else you watch, you will wish were as good as these.

Do you have a good source of anime downloads, Lud? I'd recommend bittorrenting it over night(s). Remember that computers don't like being turned off, leaving them on over night costs more on the 'lecky but I dislike restarting my computer because that's when problems occur :p

My advice is to get the subtitled originals instead of the butchered dubs. May take some getting used to, but you'll never want to go back once you do.
Moreover, I advise that Carthage must be destroyed.

Ghost in the shell (the movie not the show) is usually what I would recomend to someone who has an interest to start. There is allot of what I consider junk out there when it comes to anime lacking in story but Ghost in the shell has a pretty good story with some good background music and very nice animation. I did not get into the sequal as much but it was pretty good.

Also Ninja scroll is good they are neither are subtitled if that throws you off but many of the good ones I find are subtitled.

Here's my suggestion...

Don't.
I'm always right. I'm also a jerk. It's not my fault you can't get over the latter to see the former.

True. That's why he always plays Devil's advocate, but aren't you contradicting yourself? :3 What you should do is this:

Anyway, Trigun is great, lots of fun :3 I always enjoyed Bottle Fairy though ^^; Was vere cute ^-^!

Yeah, that's Bronc. He's funny once in a while so we let'em out of his cage every now and then. :D

Anime, huh? Cowboy Bebop as they've suggested is good stuff. I'd definetly look into that one...and when you find it, lemme know where you got it!

Personal favorite of mine is Outlaw Star.

That's hardly useless. As someone who was nerdy enough to watch anime untill he developed a loathing of it I agree.

Don't start.

-IF- you do, I would suggest Cowboy Beebop and Samurai Champloo. They're fairly well done and entertaining. Hellsing and Trigun are alright if you like confusing storylines, Trigun especially if you had a thing for Xenogears back in the day.

After that it's really whether or not you like anime enough to stomach anything from the 80's and early 90's like Akira, original Bubblegum Crisis, Robotech, Tank Police, blah blah..

I would stay away from almost anything they play on Adult Swim like Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist, etc. If you DO watch that crap, at least watch the subtitled. Fandubs and American Dubbing are horrible and poorly done on almost every anime except for perhaps Those Who Hunt Elves in which I found it funnier to have the American Dubs.

Akira was quite painfully bad... Think Dragon Ball Z with a confusing storyline, add a little more gore and you've got Akira.
