Tips if Any to lessen crashes?!

Hello again, Ive just started playing and Im wondering if there is any advice known to make Das crashes less often. I get them about every 5-10 minutes of playing. I have a very top of the line pc, and run the OC fine with all settings up. Im wondering if I have to turn off any settings to get Das to run better. Its really frustrating in the main part of the town. Since there are no markers or even any signs that Ive seen to tell me what a building is, I find the quests overly difficult because there are no way to get directions to any location and no markers or signs. The game will crash usually before I can find anything, and often resets the quest I started working on. On top of that, there seem to be buildings with doors that open, but nothing is behind the door. Is that a bug on my side or on Dasaria? None of that would be bad really if I could get the game to crash less. At least 20-30 minutes of gameplay at a time please so I can feel Im getting somewhere.
Oh one other thing. I have Evan's AI in my override dir. Could that be causeing more crashes? Also have the UIX interface.

This might be system-dependant, but I get substantially fewer crashes by playing in windowed mode.

I have read turning your video settings down will help a little bit on transition crashes. The crashes that reset your quest log are server crashes and not client crashes so it's not you and we just kind of need to wait for them to release a more stable version of the game to fix that.

doors with nothing behind them once opened, try clicking the door graphic again, as if to close. Often, that triggers the transition.
I was wandering around like a looser wondering why I couldnt get in anwhere 'Till someone showed me ;P

there are signs, try using the Z key. Can't find a place, ask some one IC.
If your crashing while standing around or fighting then you need to update drivers, prob video card drivers.
If your crashing during a transistion then your not alone. I though I had solved the problem by dropping visual settings but it turns out I was just lucky for a while

Seems to happen more with high numbers on the server.

I know its not a tip, but 2gb of ram helps ALOT.
IT seems to slow the memory leak at the very least.
hmm..

I have an Nvidia, EVGA 7900 GTX 512meg. 2Gb Ram. On a new Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, which runs excellent. Its using new drivers.
Actually I think I known what the problem is on my end.
I've gone to
http://www.speakeasy.com and run a bandwidth speed test, several actually, and even though Im on a Cable internet connection thats supposed to be running up around 1.5 - 3 mbps Im only getting between 200-600kbps Which is terrible. Its my horrible ISP. Suddenlink which recently bought out COX and the service all went to hell. THey are sending a tech out, but from all the horror stories I heard about their service we're probably going to change to Verizon DSL soon and thatll probably prevent most of my online lockups and crashes once the bandwith is more consistent. Sometimes I've even dropped down to as low as ISDN speeds. But the DAS server doesn't have a huge ping when I check, I show about 130-180 ping.
My crashes occur during transitions, when I try to talk to an NPC sometimes, and sometimes just running accross the city. I havn't tried any combat yet.
Thanks for the help though! I just mostly wanted to know if other people crashed as bad as I do. So it seems to just be a problem on my end. Ill get it sorted out!

Remember NWN2 is very unstable currently, so don't kill yourself trying to fix it - we are all having problems with crashing, especially while transitioning.

Oh by the way, I lost most all my quests again. One of the first ones you get
Crime & Punishment - Handing out the writs. I reappeared at the Inn after another crash with 2 writs left, but in my journal I just had the Supplies for the Temple quest which should have been several more there. Anyway I got Crime & Punishment quest again and another 3 writs and handed out the first again in the pub, and got the fine money twice. So its really wierd how Im losing the quests.

When your quests reset that is the server crashing and not you. Everytime the server crashes all your quest log will be blank the only persistent quests that I know of are the ones for the church.

Wow, well doesn't the server crash about every day or two? Meaning that if I don't finish a quest, I loose all the time spent on partially completeing it right?

Even without the crashes, the servers resets each day (i'm almost sure its daily). So, get the quest and get it done, or get it again the next play through.
You can still hold some of the quest itens that will make completing it faster though....

ya server just now reset, Id half way finished about 5 quests, now Im back to 0 again. I can't turn in the Items for the quests, since I don't get the updated dialogue options.
I have renewed admiration in the dedication you all have to keeping the game online and working through the problems. You all have epic patience. I hope to be patient enough in time to get some progress done with Furio that sticks with me.
