Well I have a torch now but I can't figure out how to light it. I can equip it but it only makes things darker. I can't seem to get a "use" option or any flint and steel or a match. Thanks.

The vendor torches are broken. There's an npc that sells torches (that give light!) through dialogue for 10 gp each.

The torch I have I bought from the archer guy outside the inn that sold it to me for 10gp through a dialogue option but it still doesn't work. Is that the right guy?

I bought a torch from the same guy for 10gp. It worked for a while, then stopped. I just figured they went out after a while.

I've experienced the same issue. I think it's possible that they have limited usage or duration. *Shrugs*

I bought one and tried to equip it immediately and it worked so it probably has a timer from the time you buy it until it runs out and won't work.

I noticed these wouldn't work after I put it on my hotbar and equipped it that way. However while this was happening, according to other PC's, the torch was lit. It wouldn't show lit on my end, nor was it lighting up the surrounding environment. I found that if I drop the torch on the ground then pick it back up, it will work when I drag the torch manually and equip it.

I vote we add a writ to the writ quest to punish the vendor.

Sorry no torch lemon laws in Caer... Once you take the item in hand you assume all responsibilty for it's proper function... After all I think it's more user error... I mean come on you can't even start a stick on fire?

*frowns and walks away insulted*
*mutters under his breath*
I can too light a stick on fire, I can too. Its just a defective stick.
*kicks a rock*

Rhode watches as the rock skips across the ground striking another rock partial buried in the ground. A small hot chip flies off into a patch of dried grass near by and starts to smolder.

Running over Rhode crashes to the ground near the grass and begins puffing air into the grass. As the smoke starts to build up small flames leap from the grass.

Satisfied, Rhode lights his stick then leaves the grass to burn.
