Is anyone interested in a player faction that promotes crafting of heros and items? My idea is to address two things I have heard in Dasaria2. First, it seems that some players of good and/or neutral characters feel they always get pawned in PvP with the evil factions on the server. If there was a way, say through "combat training matches", to PvP for fun without a lot of emotional baggage, would it be a good thing? Personally I am not into PvP but I think I would give it a try if there was a non-conflict roleplaying basis for it.
The second thing I have heard is that finding enchanting formulas is very difficult. Once again there appears to be a perception that "all the skilled enchanting characters are evil". I know for a fact this is not true. With that said it would be nice if an organization existed to spread knowledge of enchanting recipes through roleplay of master/apprentice relationships over meaningful periods of time (hours, not seconds). There could be guild rules regarding the sharing of guild secret recipes.
While I created Artisan Smith with the idea of leading the formation of a "Heros Guild", this is not about me but rather about promoting roleplaying and fun in Dasaria2. Please share your thoughts. Thank you.

There is/was a faction called the Order of the Diamond that did exactly as you are proposing. There are some surviving players who occasionally teach others crafting through roleplayed apprenticeships, however the faction is quite dead/defunct/inactive and there is no active leadership.
There is certainly scope for somebody energetic and active to either take this over, OR to sweep the slate clean and start something totally new with a crafting faction reboot.

Re: Heros Guild - Crafting heros and enchanters
After a few days of roleplay I've been able to find two people to learn some enchanting from. Based on this I think a player faction for this would be less fun than just roleplaying a cleric of Brintha spreading knowledge of enchanting to those who are serious enough about learning that they're willing to roleplay it. With a name like "Artisan Smith" it shouldn't take a genious to find him. Thanks for your input and for all the fun I'm having roleplaying in Dasaria.

In regards to "non-confrontational PvP" I've come to the conclusion that it could get out of hand if done on a regular basis. It seems to me that a supervised server event would be a better venue for this. Say demonstration matches to entertain citizens at a fund raising event for Cear's was effort. What do you think?
Re: Heros Guild - Crafting heros and enchanters
Hiro-san is certainly looking to learn enchantment formulas and is happy to help Mr. Smith (I get a kick every time I say that) in anyway he can. (Ya know... like help you make the 8,000,000 crossbows the Free Vanguard are going to ask you to make)
I already made and passed out some silver weapons to low level guys fighting were rats.... but hey.. It doesn't exactly take a genius to put to blocks of silver in a katana mold and bang it out.

Naoko would love to be your apprentice. She is looking for ways to be independent of Hiroshi, while still being beneficial to the new land they are living in. She does not like being a burden, and she has been itching to learn a new skill. Maybe even one that she could turn around and teach to someone else someday. Besides, she thinks Artisan Smith is a really nice guy, and likes someone who is kind to her, and doesn't boss her around! *wink*
Caolyn might be interested too, but I am not entirely sure where I am taking her character yet....
