Let Me Introduce You To...
EVERYONE.
That's right, we're going to go back through who we know.
"But Sahji!" You say, "why would we do such a ludicrous thing?!"
Because I think everyone should have a chance to reconnect. Over time, people change. Here's your chance to declare who you are, at least right now.
Allow me to start....
I am Sahji. Alternatively, Sahjii, or Sahjiii. I play on CST (GMT -6) timezone evenings.
I've been on Dasaria for...at...least three years. I think I started college with it.
Triangles and Dr. Shadelore were big influences on my style of roleplay. It's very emote-centric, because a lot of communication is nonverbal.
Who do I roleplay with? Well...with anyone! Even characters that mine conflict with. Ask RW....Karis and Terrah are not friends remotely. BUT when they encounter...and sparks fly....I'm thoroughly enjoying myself.
I'm VERY open to OOC roleplay discussion. That is to say, if you yourself are bored and want to open some roleplay....just hit me up. I'll try to work you in even if my character is already with a group of people. That may take a little imagination stretch--ESPECIALLY if our characters clash OR if you have a SHY or RESERVED character--But I LOVE to do it. I think that very often makes fresh roleplay, instead of once again seeing someone at a bar just...there. At the same time.... I am not adverse to happenstance either! I like random encounters!
I used to be big on forum roleplay, but the time difference between Dasaria in game and Dasaria in forums can be a pain. That is, a scene that takes four posts could end up to take 3 real life days, and by then, things have developed really fast in game and creates a time paradox, which can get awkward to upkeep.
I don't do a lot of Meanwhile or Tales & Stories unless I'm pointed that way, because I just plain can't keep up. I browse the Bugs Section, the General Discussion, and the Carpenter's Hall mostly.
I am a..."Tinkerer" we shall say. I tinker with the toolset, with texturing, and lately with models. I don't know a lick of scripting or advanced use of anything. I basically whack at these programs with my hammer of basics and test and test again until it works.
Outside of Dasaria, I'm a recent college graduate with an Associate of the Arts. I have no idea what I'm doing. I think I'd like to get into social work, and plan to volunteer at this place down the block from me when A. The Weather stops hovering at freezing or B. I get a working vehicle.
Other games I play include Skyrim, Left 4 Dead, Final Fantasy XIV and Pokemon. I have others, but if I'm not in Das (and I'm normally in Das), and I'm playing a game, it's probably one of these.
I love collaboration, like I said earlier, and I WILL get your PMs. Feel free to send me them, about anything, especially roleplay.
AND NOW IT'S YOUR TURN! What do you want me, and anyone, to know about you?

What a great idea Sahji!
Okay, my turn...
I am Crimson, my NWN2 login name is The Nepharian.
I am from Denmark, which means that my timezone is GMT+1. This does not always stop me from taking allnighters to join everyone else though
My playstyle varies a lot, though I'm best known as the player behind Darion Crimson, the formerly very chaootic dragon-wannabe. I rarely play other characters on Dasaria, but it does happen
IRL, I'm a PC guy working for a school and as a chapter leader of a Guardian Angels chapter(volunteer work)
I'm also currently working on becoming an indie game developer, along with a few others in this lovely community ^_^
I joined Dasaria about three years ago, and it has been a blast so far!
Who do I roleplay with? Anyone! I tend to skip teaparties though(Then again, not always!)
I am a very open minded roleplayer, and what happens to my character, happens! If he loses an arm or a leg, then so be it!
I think that's it for now! PM me, chat me on the IRC or find me ingame if you wanna RP or something
Seeya!

Re: Let Me Introduce You To...
Hello everyone, Xul reporting in. Its my thousandth post. Yay.
I've been here for a long time. Since a little before December after the server opened. I've changed a lot in seven years, thankfully. Yet one of the things I have a hard time doing is opening up to people and committing myself to things. I tend to be incredibly shy when it comes to the strange creatures known as human beings.
'Lies!' I hear you cry in outrage (but I'll get back to that in a few hundred words). My RP has been heavily influenced by... an experiment I started when I was six or seven. I wondered what it would like to be a female character. At the time I played on a few MUDs and went from being an awkward anti-socialite to being a slightly less awkward anti-socialite. I started reading a lot of fiction and fell in love with the power of imagination. My strange quirk of always making female characters on Dasaria stems from the fact that I've just been doing this for a long time. In my mind gender boundaries and discrimination aren't as real as reality makes them out to be. It's weird.
I'm definitely not the most articulate writer, or fastest thinker when it comes to expressing the amazing images and story lines I devise in the strange cacophony of my mind. I've played with some of you for seven years and still fail at expressing everything I want to. I worry that I might come off as a boring or dry individual many days; leaning me more towards a pessimistic outlook rather than an optimistic one.
So, back in the present time you'll mostly see me on the two Flittermoon sisters. Besides being OOC fodder for horrible puns about barrels, Beryl is probably my most complex character I've ever hatched. She's also one of the more approachable characters I've played. I'd consider her my favorite at the moment.
My Tel'gothrim Elrith being one of the least in certain ways. Fun fact: I'm still crazy about dark elves and submitted a major piece explaining their back story that shaped some of the neat racial feats you see in game.
One of my biggest regrets is lacking the courage to work with DMs to foster ideas. It involves that alien thing called communication and me making decisions ahead of time. I like to be very spontaneous so I prefer being in game more than on the forums.
Thanks to everyone who has ever put up with me and made my stay more comfortable.
So don't be afraid to say hi. I don't bite. (I might run away).

Re: Let Me Introduce You To...
So, I am obviously Rohenna...lol...Aliases Roh of the Red Pen, Roh Roh Roh Yer Boat, Fus Roh Das, etc etc.
Age: Rude sods. Alright FINE. Almost 40. But I don’t look it. Most days.
Gaming since: late 2008 – only ever NWN2. You might have seen me on such servers as Elements of Aesyr, Myths of Atalan, and a few others that I wasn’t involved in long enough to warrant a mention.
Converted fully to Dasaria: July 2012. Downloaded on a whim, one wintery evening, and haven’t looked back.
My little spot on earth: an hour east of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. (GMT +11 until April, then thank the gods back to +10 when you all decide to go Daylight Savings and I don’t need to stay up til stupid o’clock waiting for you all to get out of bed.) Yes, the country where everything tries to kill you. Allegedly. Yet oddly, four decades on, here I sit...whole and alive. Baffling.
My living arrangements: I share my house with my almost three year old boy, known to those in the IRC as “Little Man” or “Tiny Tyrant”. He is the cause of my many odd versions of BRB...”BRB – child hanging from ceiling” or “BRB – child on fire” or “BRB – child drinking toilet cleaner”. I haven’t been bored since 2011 because of him, because he is always into some form of mischief.
What do I do when I am not Das-ing? Im primarily a mother until my wee boy goes off to school, but in my spare days I am poking at photography and various forms of writing to supplement my income with a view to improving both so that I can work more permanently in those areas. Hobbies too many to mention so I wont.
Who do I play? Primarily Shayde, she of the “sighs softly” and “watches quietly” and asker of too many questions, as she is often told. She is insatiably curious about other characters and what makes them tick, though of late I haven’t had time to indulge that part of her personality much.
Who do I RP with? Anyone! I wish I had more time...like the old days lol...sometimes I am in game for two hours a week, sometimes I’m on daily (your night times) – depends on weather/moods/child/work situation...So when I am pressed for time, mostly I am guilty of going to familiar people, but I DO miss getting to know the new ones. When I have a few hours...be warned. Especially if you are new – player OR character. My RP tends to flow fairly organically – a “log in and see what happens” kind of thing.
Why do I RP? Because i love love love watching the characters evolve and unravel and blossom and fail and fall and lament...the whole spectrum...I love to poke at a character to see what they might do under these circumstances or those...and upset their world a little sometimes. I love writing, and this is the best writing exercise I have found in a long time. I love a little conflict, I love a little intrigue, I love those wonderful rare RP moments that transform your character enormously...when you were expecting nothing more than a quiet RP night.
If you see Shayde around, come and say hi if you haven’t met her. She is very approachable, a little shy, and infinitely curious.

Re: Let Me Introduce You To...
Cool beans, here goes then, for those with an interest
My name is Kell. I'm an old fashioned tel'gothrim mage, from the times before the Ordo Magica was cool. I am married to a complete witch of a woman, fathered two utterly retarded, deceased failures of children and am proud grandfather to a little girl whom is known to skip about through Varanite lands these days, behaving pretty much like a loose cannon. I don't know where I did go wrong in raising all of them them, but I do know that I have never meant for anything like this to happen.
In my alternative life, beyond the weave, I live in the Netherlands (GMT+1) and do far stranger things for a living. I am what best could be described as an archiver of data and I write books. Or have them written. I dance because I need an outlet where magic fails me in those lands, and I have currently taken up more spiritual studies so I may reconnect with my life on this side of the weave, or, anywhere else. I have two cat familiars who really only like me for the food and I live with a man who has no idea who I really am. Though I suspect he suspects.
I like to play with people. Lots of people. I play with them on interpersonal levels but I have been known to be some sort of a puppetmaster too back in my days. I don't discriminate. I have learned a long time ago that opening up to people is the best way for them to be lured into my schemes. Which is partially why I am writing this, I suppose. I have a habit of getting into trouble (all for Science!) though without my magic it tends to be less destructive and a whole lot less interesting.
I play because I feel I have a story to tell and also one to create with whoever I encounter in this game of life that so far has been going on for a bit longer than a decade of my life. It's been a curious decade; one filled with tales, magic, laughter, tears, frustration and joy.
The son of an old friend of mine once said; "but Kell. This play we dive into; it is far much more than a game. It is a way of life." Now, personally I feel that might be pushing it a bit but I did recognize the sentiment in his statement. And seeing that it's been a part of me for this long now, a third of my other-weavly life, maybe I should just say he is right. But I'm still at odds with that, for the sake of sentiment.

Re: Let Me Introduce You To...
WHOIS Jain Zar, aka Elvina Hellcat, aka Garet Mellan, aka Depheant Makepeace, aka Angela Wrath, aka Esmeralda Figura ... and euhm , several others?
First of all someone who loved Warhammer 40k in the past and figured the name Jain Zar was a cool name to take as forum and login, now so many years ago.
My relation to fantasy :
I love fantasy since I was about 13... it started by reading books from David Eddings (read the whole series in less then 5 months).
A bit later I discovered Dungeons and Dragons (paper, books) and where I also played dm later on for some friends (we had a small weekly group during those days).
A few years later we discovered a few stores which sold things around the fantasy theme, including Warhammer. We decided to buy and paint a few armies, I remember I went first for High Elves, and later took Eldar in 40k. That board game didn’t last for long as it lacked stories and rp.
Later on we also played a bit Magic TG but that became boring after a while (years !! LMAO) too.
With the introduction of the home computer few games got my attention and I only cared again (mostly) about the rp / fantasy games, so... about ten-twelve years ago it was NWN1 that stole my heart, probably due the many customizing options.
After playing offline I went online and discovered Dasaria 1 very quickly. The language was a problem back then to do decent rp though. At the same time and perhaps pretty weird, I played DM on the Leatherwolf LOTR server, where I used the same account and names I’m using now... Jain Zar. The dm thing was only for support though, helping players out of certain situations, spamming them with a few unexpected freaks, that kind of fun. Not much language was needed back there as it soon turned out rather a team pvp server than an rp server.
Later, when NWN2 came out, it was fun again, and I learned very quick that Dasaria 2 existed... but after playing there a small year mostly alone (Sandrina Battle medic as character) I left again... the language (again!) making it hard to keep up with the extensive and sometimes too fast going RP between players... let alone having the chance to pick up something from the main (server) story.
So a ‘vet’... without being a ‘vet’.
All those years I never stopped reading and even bought me more books. Favorite authors fantasy : Eddings, Feist, Weis and Hickman, Hobb (Lindholm), Brooks, Williams... and a few others.
Somewhere deep down inside … I was driven to make my own stories, to create ... and where could I be better off then... yes... Dasaria 2. I returned now about two years ago. But I also had to convince myself to learn english and started writing immediately in that language as it is more common spoken.
So I returned, picked up my old character Sandrina again... just to explore. Not much later my idea for Elvina was born... nothing really inspired me too it, except I thought the name Elvina was pretty... and I was attracted to the warlock stuff.
During my first months of my return and while slowly trying to get grip on the english, I discovered something else.
People to play with... stories... as far as my language could keep up at least
… And more important, friends, people who helped me out ... so I sticked around.
Btw : I am out “there” to have fun, and fun I had so far, many laughs behind my screen. There were also lesser moments … but hey... don’t we have them all?
About myself :
I will turn 40 this year, am married and have two kids. And for some it seems important, I am male.
More about myself I only tend to share (or I already did) with people whoem have become friends or in who I put a certain trust.
Though I can tell you, I'm a teacher, high school.
I also have other hobbies. I got two telescopes to watch the stars, and I am interested in science and technics. Further I know my way around in making videos for weddings or other happenings, promotional things and that kind of stuff.
I am around for a while now, trying to create my own stories and backgrounds and jumping into others... anyways..., you can always contact me, seek me out for some nice rp... certainly if it is the funny stuff, … and even then, the door is locked..... NAAAHHHH , GOTCHA !!
It is OPEN !! Sillies

People to play with... stories... as far as my language could keep up at least
Sillies

Re: Let Me Introduce You To...
Hello, my sweets...I am Sabre, AKA Baby1111007 AKA server mom. And I have been around here...for just about forever. I met my husband Wyvern playing Das1, Jeh was our best man...and many of the vet players that are playing, I have fondly watched grow up.
As a player, I RP with everyone. My main is Reina Mellan, the Fey bard who is very social and very open to chatter. You may also see me on Cynthia who is also a sweetheart and Tahl'nae and Yaassima who are not so friendly. But that is IC, oocly I am very friendly.
As a DM, I torture...I mean play with everyone. I am not picky, I look at all of you as equally tasty and well...lets face it, souls and coffee are my favorite snack.
In RL, I am a 42 year old house wife, mother to a 19 year old girl, and human to two demon dogs. I enjoy reading and cooking and will talk recipes for hours. And...I have an odd sense of humor...consider yourself warned.

I am the Krylan. Also known as Calken, Xander, Derek, Claken, Krillin, Kraken, And I have my own little cult of Worshipers known as the Krylanites. They are very Devoted to Krylanism and they are my people.
Age: I would like to claim my age to be 18, but I’m actually 21, though some might argue that I’m 12. I’m a child at heart, what do you want.
Gaming since: Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh….. I want to say 1998? Started with Sonic the hedgehog, at 6 years old, and been a bonefide gamer ever since. There has never been a time in my life when I had not gone more than a week without playing a game of some kind.
RPing since: 2005, I started with Star wars galaxies, and I actually sucked ***. But what do you expect from a 13 year old. I stayed on with that for six years until they announced the shut down and I quit the game. In that time I also picked up acting, on stage and infront of the camera. I also did a little bit of improv. After swg was when I started up on NwN2, though at the time I focused more on Champions and didn’t get into Das until maybe a year later. I’ve been playing DnD since I entered College.
My little spot on earth: I live in the middle of nowhere Washington, Aka Spokane. I live in the Pacific standard time, GMT – 8.
My living arrangements: Complicated. Living with my dad.
What do I do when I am not Das-ing? Depends on the day. I could be playing DnD, Hunting for work, Working, Writing, Drawing, having a mental breakdown, cooking. You know, the normal stuff.
Who do I play? Depends on my mood, I am typically known as Calken, The asshole. I find it fun to see how people react to someone who is not necessarily a nice guy, but who still cares about the people around him. Granted, if you only just met him, he was much much worse. It is only recently that he has regained his status as Lawful good.
I also play as Xander, The fun loving bard who will go out of his way to make your day 100% better.
Elira, the Loopy Elf Enchantress, with a penchant for creating chaos and unwraveling belief systems,
And Derek, the droopy eyed, soft spoken Thief, with a hatred of the a world that has constantly harassed him
Who do I RP with? I have a group that I tend to RP with more than I RP with others, but that is mostly because my characters know who they are, and will approach them for RP. Other times, my characters tend to be ignored. I think the only one of my characters tends to be approached by people I don’t know, Xander. But don’t take that as meaning I wont RP with you! I really truly don’t bite!
Why do I RP? As I mentioned, I have a love of creating stories and living someone elses life. I love immersion, and I have found that RP is the best way to immerse yourself in a world. I like not only writing characters, but it’s also a good way to develop a character. Many of the characters I create often find their way into my stories in some regard or another.

Re: Let Me Introduce You To...
I'm still quite new, but I wanted to weigh in as well. Over the last 10 years of playing, first NWN1, and now NWN2, I've been known my many names but here I'm Iduna. I was first introduced to roleplay my my lovely little sister, who quickly got me addicted to NWN1 and I never looked back. My list of servers I've played on is quite short, as I tend to be extremely loyal to any place I play, unless a situation is extreme (server disappearing or some horrible experience), so you'll probably be stuck with me for a while. I'm actually a very shy person, in game, and out so if I seem stand-offish, it just means that I'm still finding my feet and learning my way around. I dislike OOC drama, but IC drama is a lot of fun! I'm probably one of the least competitive people I've met and love to see how everyone around me succeeds and excels. So far, every interaction I've had has been warm and welcoming and I think very highly of everyone.
Let's see... My gaming experience is rather limited, as I tend to find a game I like and stick with it for a long time, but I've played WoW, Star Wars ToR, Neverwinter, Diablo III, Torchlight II, the Sims 1, 2, & 3, Neverwinter Nights 1, and Neverwinter Nights 2. Most of my roleplay experience is within the Forgotten Realms so I've found myself to be a bit out of my element here, but I'm loving every minute of it! Sometimes a change in scenery is just what I need.
I think of myself as a professional student when it comes to my roleplay style, and am always watching and learning how to improve myself. The day I think I know it all, is the day that I stop playing. I try to take a realistic approach to all of my characters, giving them strengths and weaknesses, showing their many moods and insecurities, and most importantly, personal growth. I tend to be very open to whatever happens to my characters, as there is great learning to be had when hit with difficult times. I like to be descriptive with my emotes to paint a picture of what she's actually doing, feeling, seeing, hearing, etc. My end goal is to play a character that everyone can relate to, on a personal level. Also, I never play males. I've tried and I just can't wrap my mind around being a man, much to my husband's delight.
Personally, I've been married to my sweet, amazing husband for 6 years (Similar to Sabre, we met playing NWN1 on a sweet little server called Mirellest) and we have one spawn...I mean son who is 3. You'll often see mre refer to him as my Monkey. I'm a stay at home mom to this precocious little angel (sometimes devil), so my hands are always full and I LOVE naptime. Like a lot. Seriously, its crazy how much I look forward to those 2-3 precious hours.
As evidenced by Quinn's journal, I love to tell stories and am constantly thinking of new things and have to get it down on paper before I'm consumed by them. I also enjoy reading, playing with my son, spending time with my man, taking walks, cooking, singing, dancing (sooooo not good at it but I do love a good booty wiggle), and finding new ways to express my creativity.
Authors I enjoy reading include, Tolkien, George RR Martin, Terry Goodkind, CS Lewis, Shel Silverstien, Frank Herbert, and Christine Feehan (I do love a good dark romance). I tend to stick to the fantasy and sci-fi genres, though what girl doesn't secretly love a good romance novel?
So there's me in a nutshell....sometimes awkward, quirky, goofy, friendly, and moody (sorry in advance, I get stuck in Mommy-Mode sometimes). I'm happy to be playing here and meeting so many great and talented people!

Re: Let Me Introduce You To...
Hi I'm Althy, and I've been sober for....Oh wait, different meeting.
Well, I'm Althy, server name Althalus Night (after one of my favorite Eddings characters). I'm forty- *cough cough cough* and have three beautiful daughters, and I live with my beau of 5 years and his two little boys. Yes, you did that math right. 10 years off my life, but I love it. When I read for pleasure, It's usually fantasy. Eddings, Lackey, Steve Erickson to name but a few. Oh! I'm all caught up on Game of Thrones finally, so you can talk to me about it again!
I'm sort of a "take me as I am" kinda girl. I grew up in a family with three brothers, and was forced to compete with them for everything, especially food, because if you didn't get to it before they did, there wasn't any. My job is in Banking Software Sales for a Multi-national company and I teach 3-5 year-olds ballet 1 class a week this year. As a result of 5 kids and work, a dad with a stroke and my mother with cognitive impairment (Why did Chris want to be with me again?!!?! Remind me to tell him how much I love him!) , my play times are erratic, and I jump on when I can, although GMT-5 early mornings are the best bet because they are all still sleeping, and I have the coffee pot to myself
.
On the server, I play both sexes, my primary chars at this time being Sammil Card, Nara Almaran, and Soap. I have no idea what my roleplaying style is. I guess if I were an actor, I would be a character actor. I try to use my own ability to empathise and transfer that IG, and try to live in my character for the short time that I am there. Growing up with three brothers I try to draw on that experience as well.
I am ALWAYS ALWAYS up for RP. From singing a song to picking your pocket, I promise I am trying to draw you into RPing with me. I only have one level 20 character, and I've been playing here for many years now. I really only play three characters, so that should be an indicator how much I like RP. I also have no tanks, I prefer organic character growth, I almost NEVER plan a build, and let the levelling come naturally, so my characters usually suck at combat (no, that isn't an invitation....).
Thats all about me. NEXT.

Re: Let Me Introduce You To...
I don't think I actually did one of these when I first joined... So might as well do one now. (Warning, quite a bit of this will be rambling, I am not very good at introductions)
I am Alterity, I'm approximately twenty one years, eight months and thirty days old, and I have been gaming since... 1997 on Win 95 and the N64 (Though sharing with an older brother and older sister did make this less common than I might have preferred). I started playing Das almost 6 years ago now, and I started roleplaying at least 4 years before that on Warcraft 3. After a while the roleplay slowed down in Warcraft, and those I played with went to World of Warcraft, so I drifted around a bit. I had played a bit of Dasaria 1 with Gobb (my older brother), but hadn't really gotten into it; I decided that it was about time to do so now that I had a good amount of RP experience. The first RP experience I had was with a tiefling duelist; Marrent had a few choice words to say to him, but helped him with some wolves... Only to have Lorne Silverbeard come running out of no where and kill the summoned shadow; a great way to start NWN2! My first major RP char was Cide (invited to the group by The Explorer, hopefully he comes back one day) followed by Hyel when I wanted to rebuild the Library (Project Finished, if you ignore the critters making a home below!)
I've since been permanently hooked on Das; and enjoy creating new and interesting and peculiar builds that 'might' work on Das, even if I don't actually create the character. In my time here I've played... Hyel (Loremaster, Archmage, Knight, Librarian etc), Cide (Blackguard/Scout for the Harbingers), Methos (Exemplar of Lochwar), Lucian (Disciple of Lochwar, a Rhaz), Aaronn (Rogue), Lumme (Runecaster from Varsgate), Glanin Redleafe (Redleafe Tunnelrat), Firin (Vanguard Captain, he has issues with fiends), Artimaye (Cleric of Iaosia), Korangar (He is part wall, part insanity, part dwarf)... And a bunch more that I can't think of off the top of my head.
As for the real world, I live in Toronto and I work as a Web Developer; building tools and production quality code for millions of people around the world. When not in Das, I'm gaming, working, reading, writing, or cooking. in the last half a decade I've worked on Robotics on my spare time and indie game development (4 or 5 different projects). Currently my Das time has reduced a bit as I'm working full time, going to school part time, working on an indie game part time, making slow progress on a book, coming up with Das Plots, and learning little tidbits of other languages.
For reading, primarily SF and Fantasy; lots of both. I've read a lot of Asimov, Heinlein, Drake, Gaiman, Pratchett, Brooks, Goodkind, Kay, Clark, Weber, Eddings, Anthony... And a bunch of poorly known indie authors.
Who do I RP with? Anyone really; though I tend to focus more on those in my plethora of factions (you're welcome to join them!), but by all means pop by and say hello! I especially like showing new players around and giving them some advice
Why Do I RP? I love stories, I love to plot out stories and watch some of them come to fruition, and others be completely altered by the actions of others. It is a lot of fun trying to predict what other characters will do and being surprised by their actions, and getting so in-character that I accidentally emote for my characters.
I can't think of anything else that'd be interesting to say; I'm usually up for talking about something technical (Robotics, computers, Science etc...), or stories, and often really... Anything. I have ten metric tonns of stories in my head from the hundreds of books I've read and thousands of hours I've spent RP, feel free to ask for one(I do best with SF, fantasy, and sometimes historical); or help me create a new one by meeting one of my really long list of characters!
