I decided to crank all the video settings up to remind me that the game actually is quite pretty, we'll see if i can play like that when the server is back up without crashing at every transition.
I'm always right. I'm also a jerk. It's not my fault you can't get over the latter to see the former.

Hurray for Me!

Topic titles are like turn signals. They aren't for your benefit, but for the people around you.

Sadly for me..it wouldn't patch.

So I reinstalled..it still won't patch..

Guess until I figure this out, I'm done.

BTW it fails in a different place every time I try it :(

Explain your problem in detail. I had some errors while patching, read up at the Bioware forums, and fixed them. Perhaps I can help.

I've found most patching problems are because of HD space. The game is huge and it needs like 7Gb free.

Overridder 2da's are another biggy, or if you deleted the origional campaign (I did, belive it or not ;p)

The server has been updated to 1.03, even before it is running. So everyone who hasn't updated yet, should do so.

We will be running the same module, so NO PWC update will be required when it comes back online (barring any 1.03 wierdness that will force us to update it).

The next update we had planned for later this week has been delayed on account of the problems tonight. So all of you pushing level 10+ will unfortunately have to wait a bit longer for the content that I promise is coming for you guys.

In reply to earlier posts...tried every single "fix" on bioware boards.

Including vanilla reinstall...no go

In relation to HDD space I have 180GB free on system drive C

203GB on drive D.

I build my own systems..Its not related to space issues or memory 3GB crucial onboard (yes all modules are fine)

I am currently manually extracting cabfiles..heres hoping...................

Edit : Extracting files manually from the cabs seems to be working. Each time I get an error..i extract that file from DVD cab file and repatch...nearly there... at 96% crashes at vo.zip.
Hopefully this will be last one as I have to d/l afresh each time *sigh*
(for anyone experiencing same thing program I use is called zipscan to extract cab files. They are installshield cabs which have a different structure to MS ones)
I am so addicted to Dasaria its not even funny :)

11:48 pm EST I have success.. Defeated Obsidians evil patcher...now lets see if game runs......................

It's great that they updated the chatbox. I didn't had the chance yet to try it but would be nice if you could save the player's name in a small list instead of having to write it on a piece of paper. :p

I noticed that as well. :D I had shadows on "low" now I can put them on "medium" with no problems...in the OC anyways. I have yet to try it in Dasaria.

Maybe I'm missing something but I find it very clunky. Here's what I posted on the official forums:

The new chat functionality really didn't address the main problems with the multiplayer chat interface and in fact added a few new ones. The real difficult thing to do is to constantly type out long names in quotes when trying to have a conversation via tells. We really needed a /r for replying to tells.

So, can I disable these buttons that force a /l, /w, /d, et cetera in to the message entry window every time I hit enter? Now, when I want to send a tell I have to hit enter and then press delete a few times. When I want to /salute or /sit or /pray I now have to press delete a few times. There are way more keypresses now than ever. So, can this be disabled?

I've not had chance to try out the new patch yet. It sounds quite good. The chatbox, lack of a DM client and poor use of system resources with shadows were all major shortcomings.

Let's hope we get another patch soon so we can reply to tells...

Best part of 1.03.

Bottom left part of the screen. The eye, click it.
Chat list and select the persons name and it puts in the /t "Really freaking long name with lots of commas" for you.
The largest wound will come from those you considered friends.

Server stability so far has been great.

I did have quite a few client crashes, though. All of them were zoning into T & C.
If you build it, they will come.
