Welcome to the Adventurers' Guild!

What you're all about

IC MOTIVATION
Enjoyable discussions, followed up by fruitful collaborations between Darion Crimson and Yvalee Serius have resulted in desires to expand their operations by gathering more likeminded individuals to take on larger conquests. By building a well balanced team that encourages acceptance of both strengths and weaknesses, they intend to begin a new, strong front against the Canite Heresy. In their efforts, they invite all to join.

OOC MOTIVATION
The Adventurers Guild started out with the brainfart working title "The X-men Project". Why? Because we're all special snowflakes, and we should be playing the stars from the skies being that. We want to make a European based guild for all who're interested in doing things IG, IC, together. We will make no apologies for playing who or what we play. We want to bring RP and cooperation back in the community the way it was intended, in an oldschool PnP way, not limited by OOC constraints.

The Adventurers Guild is about people making an OOC effort to create a friendly but realistic, WYSIWYG, roleplay-centric, indiscriminatory, PNP-like gaming environment and faction that welcomes diversity.
  • Members recognise the benefits of combining efforts towards the greater good.
  • Members accept and encourage (open) roleplaying, character diversity, creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.
Dasaria is a fantasy world; magic exists, we are adventurers and specialised X-men in our own special ways. So lets game and be awesome together. Spandex suits are no requirement.

Keywords
  • PnP style "party" feeling to the faction and the events.
  • Stay IC, fix/plot/plan things OOC as little as possible.
  • IC -banter- is fine. OOC banter may result in exclusion from the faction.
  • Stay true to your character. No apologies are ever needed as long as things remain IC.
  • IC actions have IC consequences. Deal with it accordingly.
  • On that note; DMs at all times have final call. We're just players.
  • Expect the unexpected and roll with punches.
  • Have faith, trust your fellow players and enjoy the game.
Application to The Adventurers Guild can only be done via IC interaction.

Thank you Wired :)

Just to elaborate a bit on this faction:

The Adventurer's Guild is not a faction we'll be actively recruiting for. We'll be planning events (in collaboration with DMs hopefully!) and during these events anyone will be welcome to join. We'll try to plan low level, high level, anything in between and event topics can range from "scout a cave together" to "find equipment" to "fight Canites".

We have requested a subforum to share ideas. Anybody who would want to actively help us coming up with and sharing ideas, can request access. The subforum is merely some sort of "notebook" that Darion, Yvalee and Tharwulf will use (some more than others) and it is not mandatory for any guild member to have access to this forum.

We intend to plan events, post them on the main forum, so that all who want to join, can join.

I hope that explanation about how we'll be working is clear. If there are any questions, please contact any of us three ingame, preferably IC.

How to contact IC? Pull something out of your arse and run with it. Perhaps you overheard Darion and Yvalee plotting, perhaps you heard Tharwulf talk about exploring a cave. The more time you spend around any of the three, the more likely it will be you heard them say something about a certain plothook. We don't mind if we're approached through a bit of metagaming to get in contact with us, because how else would you do it ;)

All the rest of course.. IC, IC, IC. Thanks for the interest, hope to be able to drag you along ingame! :D

IMPORTANT - READ THIS

A couple of rules and guidelines for all the events related to this faction (we might add more in the future if there's something else worth mentioning):

- Stay in character. This is a general server rule, but no harm in reminding about it. Keep OOC talk to a minimum.

- No questing/grinding. This breaks immersion. Sometimes events can involve a specific quest, but that'll be handled accordingly by the event organiser(s). No taking quests while we run the event because we happen to be in an area with quests for your level.

- Sometimes we may mention a "recommended level" for an event. Think of that as a guideline to keep things fun, rather than a strict restriction. If your character's level is too high, try "gimping" him/her (using non-magical gear, ignoring strong spells and abilities, etc.) so the event doesn't become a one-(wo)man show.

The Adventurer's Guild subforum has been made public. It's not a faction per se and anyone is welcome, and we think this should be reflected on the forums. Feel free to post there.

I've seen these types of guild/factions pop up on other servers before and they always confuse me. Maybe somebody can better explain here to me what exactly these are. But doesn't a generic adventurers guild just provide the same exact thing as logging in and joining a random general event or requesting a general type of event? Why is something like this needed? Just comes off as wearing both a belt and suspenders to me.

Because what you say assumes there's an event going on, which is not the case most of the time. Or that you're always going to find a suitable party whenever you log. I don't know about other servers, but the purpose of this guild is to give players more things to do without having to rely on a DM (they're welcome, but not necessary in most of these events).

In other words, player-driven events have to start somewhere. Just think of it as a place where to arrange those, share ideas and gather those players who are interested.

on another server we never had a specific guild/group but at the time with only 8-regulars and one or two DM log ins a week, we would all get together and RP usually where we could have friendly contests whether it was sparring , tumbling, magic tricks drinking ect. It was great fun and I have spent 4-5 hrs with a group of 4-8 people often. It was a permadeath server so wlking off alone was not adviseable. Sometimes we would run statics together, but if the level spread was too great we often chose to just hang out so everyone could be involved. So far have enjoyed the AG group here, but have found almost all players have that spirit whether it is a TAG event or not, and that is a great Thing!!
