Battlemage feat

I recently took the "battlemage" feat so one of my characters could cast wearing medium armor, however, the medium armor at the merchants still shows up as unusable to me. Is this feat another of Obsidian's messed up stuff? (Sorry if I missed a previous post on the subject)

Do you have Armor Proficiency (Medium)?

Battlemage does not give you medium armoy proficiency. It just lets you cast in it.

So if you're a warlock and you want to wear a breastplate, you need to spent 2 feats: 1 for medium armor proficiency, and another for battlemage.
