The time to say goodbye

Post by SnorriHT »

While the Province of Dars continues to live under the enlightened rule of the Divine Varanian Emperor, One of his most loyal servants, Latishe Vaine has turned her attention to family matters.

The 'accidental' death of her father, and the disappearance of her brother has left her in the unenvious position of being the matriarch of the House of Vaine. It is with some regret that her ladyship has had to leave her duties as the Priestess of Brintha, but such is the call of the Varanian nobility to sacrifice for the common good.

So Goodbye Friends and Good luck.

Varana Eternal!

OOC:

It is with some regret that I'm leaving Dasaria II. As much as I love Dasaria II, I absolutely hate NWN2 and have resigned myself to waiting what NWN3 will bring. Hopefully with the popularity of MMO's, Commerical MMO licences will hopefully become cheaper and easier, and perhaps NWN3 will be built on such technology. That is assuming that Hasbro see an opportunity to use NWN3 for multiplayer, maybe even as an MMO kit for DnD 4?

I'll leave with many great memories, including a fabulous player base, but my greatest admiration is for the Dasaria II design team and DM's, who have struggled against an immature product, and have built a beautiful and well balanced world. You guys and gals are amazing :)

Thank you for the fun and friendship and take care

SnorriHT

p.s. a special thanks to Stoned Raider, who took me under his wing many months a go :)

If you were leaving for any other reason, I'd say goodbye. But since you've
decided to pull a fit over a game that is working, well...

P.S. You were a good roleplayer, and I liked having you around. I don't
dislike you, and I look forward to your return. So please don't leave with a
bad impression of me. I wish you the best.

Farewell, Snorri.

Goodbye Snorri!

We've had some truely memorable RP together, and until today I was hoping for your return to Dasaria *sniff*
As much as I understand your reasons to leave, I hope to see you back in a few patches time, when NWN2 works like it should. Anyway, my best wishes to you!

P.S.: I always saw it the other way round, so thanks to you as well, for taking me under your wings

It's a real pitty your leaving us as I also enjoyed many Rp sessions with you but I will hope to see you again. Best of luck with where ever your gaming takes you :)

Eve, I find your comments offensive. There is a stickied thread on this forum and on Bioware's NWN2 forum providing techniques to assist people with transition crashes written by me.

The fact remains Eve is that with NWN I could play on any persistent world server. With NWN2, I still crash regularly, despite the efforts of Obsidian and the community to find a comprehsensive solution. Maybe the game works fine for you, but unfortunately it still doesn't work for me.

Maybe this might convince you to stick around for at least another month?

Eve, I love you I do and normally my reaction to any good bye would be the same as yours but in this instance you are out of line.

That being said I hope that all our players will remember the efforts as players and GMs and the struggles we have all faced in this NWN2 blasphemy. Dasaria/Varana are awesome despite the efforts, or lack thereof, on the part of nameless programmers who labored on the side of the almighty dollar before the game is even finished. MOTB, I think not.

Goodbye, SNorri. Thanks for getting the Order of the Diamond started. It has been great fun leading the many crafters of Cear. We hope it pans out into a dynamic part of the campaign.

Hope to see you again in Das3, should such a thing ever come to exist.

Goodbye for now. Be well and stay fun.

I was a little... "temporarily jaded" at the time. I apologize.

Farewell Snorri, I hope to encounter you again.

I learned a long time ago never to say "good-bye". Usually because Dasaria tends to yank me back at some point or another.

I think I've said my farewells to the community, in my whole tenure here, about 3 times. Perhaps twice. I can't particularly recall.

All I know is here I am, still poking my nose about. If you're leaving, that's cool. I hope you find a game that interests you in the time it takes you to come back. ;)

meh, all good mate.

Its not the way I wanted to leave Dasaria, which is still the best NWN2 Persistent world I've seen.

Thanks for all your kind comments everyone. I'm having a complete break from NWN2 and am playing Minions of Mirth at the moment. Its is a very nice MMO, has a once-off for $30US and has some nifty features such as multclassing and oodles of quests and gameplay. I've encountered no roleplaying, but the player base is friendly and fun. Its graphics are not as pretty as NWN2 or WoW, but the gameplay is fast and the UI is quite intuitive. There is a free download version but characters are limited to level 15 (out of a 100). Worth a look if you want to try something different, but I think you'll find still Dasaria a lot more compelling :)
