Re: Third party custom content
I was under the impression that this hak will remain a small-sized thing?
If you're adding models (ie making the hak big MB wise) then I'm gonna go right ahead and list my mandatory make-nwn2-pretty list... ehrm.

Re: Third party custom content
I think the idea coalescing around third party is indeed the basics (things we previously distributed as overrides), plus a little gravy for the initial release. It could certainly get more complex over time, so it doesn't hurt to share your wishlist. Maybe it's the same as mine? Just to set expectations, I wouldn't expect that we're going to go and do it all straight away of course.
While this thread is about possible third-party inclusions, the custom content work is primarily focused around Dasaria-specific races, subraces, lore, etc. A full description of all the new options will be posted well in advance of the release.

I somewhat doubt it.. When I make a hak to my tastes, it is no less than 750mb. :|

I must say, I am now curious about your haks.
Question: will you be taking player suggestions on Dasaria specific classes?

Re: Third party custom content
Classes are an easy thing to make; I made tons for NWN1. They take up virtually no space either. But they pose one major problem: Balance. And everyone's got their opinions about that.
Personally... I'd advise to leave it be. There's enough classes as is.

Re: Third party custom content
There are a few classes I can think of.. but, might be best to think of the balancing part of it. Things seem to be a little uneven as it is.

Re: Third party custom content
I know I posted this somewhere already but IMO it's worth saying again if it's how you add it:
Throwable mugs and Bottles; even if it's just so one of my chars can throw them at Shorn's could lead to some fun RP or try setting up a picket fence and throwing them in a mob like fashion outside the Ministry for a RP disagreement over letting Drow within the City walls. Actually I haven't picked on Blackhearts Chars in a while either so more targets.
Making them launchable using the Catapults in Ravenswood is probably asking to much so I won't bother lol.

Re: Third party custom content
Oh, another request:
Make Neutral PCs, NPCs and Objects targettable by spells. This was the default way it was in NWN1, as it stands in NWN2 you can't target Neutral PCs, NPCs and Objects with spells, but you can elect to attack them or bash objects. Suffice to say, this is rather annoying for PvP, RP and if you're a mage and have to deal with a locked (but bashable) door. It's also really annoying for when DMs want you to cast a spell at an object for RP reasons and you can't because the engine is stupid...

Also since the server is getting bigger, not a bad idea to maybe start thinking of an 'evil, you're never getting into our town again' place to spawn people? I love the idea of multiple spawn locations, for evil people that don't want to be spawned in town for whatever the RP reason is. When are we going to be able to teleport again? *coughs*

Multiple spawn points are currently in development and will probably be active by the time Dasaria upgrades to the next patch.Vahene wrote:Also since the server is getting bigger, not a bad idea to maybe start thinking of an 'evil, you're never getting into our town again' place to spawn people? Re: Third party custom content
I thought they were already in place and that I was just too lazy to try and figure out how to activate them. I have gotten messages while in the Buck, Vissen and a few other places saying that I have found another spawn point.

Re: Third party custom content
We're working on it. But yes, Inns and Temples in nonhostile areas will probably be valid start locations.

Re: Third party custom content
Seconding Athy's suggestion; half-elves need their beards back.
Re: Third party custom content
I don't think they exist, but if you find some or have the skills to create some I will include them. Otherwise you're reliant on OE to include it.
I'm no 3D modeler and facial hair requires not just a tintmap, but a mesh, and works with a skeleton that maps to a specific head, as when the character moves their lips the facial hair needs to move with it. If there are any 3d modelers out there that are interested in this sort of thing, let us know.
Are half-elves supposed to have beards?
I also haven't seen anything like a thrown bottle, Explorer.
