A New Guard

Sister Annah exits her personal chambers with a serious expression. She proceeds with addressing the Requiem Guard in the main hall.

“Requiem – as you know I have come from a church of great importance far away. I am used to a larger staff then this smaller but yet formidable temple has to offer. Considering the theft a few weeks ago and the constant threat this region is under I would wish for the Guard to be reinforced. I have therefore written a letter to a trusted friend of mine. He has served me before, handling security over various places and is a most devoted follower of Peralia. I want him by my side here as our task moves ahead.
All of you are on my account unquestioned guardians of our Mistress ways and you have done much to uphold the general order in the region. This has however left the temple without protection from time to time. I can not ask that one of you abandon you other duties, the village and I need you to move freely across the Dasarian province. This man will assume that role, a constant protector of the temple and the area near us. I will also order him to handle and oversee the new task given to us by the Magnus Order, namely the Koalisk threat.
Understand that I in no way wish to undermine your authority in the region or have either one of you replaced. I wish however that you will accept this man as a fellow temple guard and a brother.
Peralias will be done.”

OOC – I am offering you a NPC guard. He would be a Requiem Guard, a brother. He will be placed either right outside the temple or just inside it with the dialogue that handles the Koalisk threat. This, to separate the fact that Sister Annah, is dealing with more spiritual matters while the Requiem are of a more military branch of the church. How do you feel about this? You would still need to present a small dialogue for this new guy. Perhaps he could have some kind of information regarding the Requiem guard as well? Its your faction, your temple so make sure you speak your heart on the matter.

OOC: Great Odin!!! Please do! I hope we will eventually get new PC members. I did request a Faction Subforum be created but I haven't heard or seen anything of it. Would you mind perhaps sending that up the chain? thanks again Odin. By the way, have you been able to create those "stolen items" yet so that we can be on the lookout for them? It makes sense to have a guard NPC handle the Koalisk dialog. It is the Requiem Guards responsibility to defend the temple. Plus it would give us an opportunity to better present the guardian side of our faction to the player base.

1. "I have been charged as the local sentry of the Requiem Order to conduct matters of defense in Two-Bridges and to encourage the growth of its inhabitants. In current events, the Koalisk lizardmen have been in direct opposition with the folk living here, aimlessly wandering the land and assaulting those they meet.

"The Koalisk lizardmen are a sentient race, but just as we are flesh-and-blood, they're ancestry is a lineage borne of a wild and ruthless heritage that has no concern for other humanoids and cannot share our land peacefully. For that reason, and for the livelihood of Peralia's blessed souls in this world, I am tasking able fighters to the cause."

Within a few passing moments, Brother [NPC's name]'s trained eyes seem to weigh your combat prowess as well as your soul. He regards you with a worldly smile that tells a story of true tranquility, like the warmth of the sun shining through a stained-glass window in a church on a particularly cold morning. 1. For a brief second, Brother [NPC's name] is caught off guard by this ambiguous statement. Worlds are created faraway in the relative passage of time called memory--the first form of life on a planet appearing in its most obscure form, almost hidden like a tiny secret--and their existence expand to transcend time. The life of a faraway star blinks out of existence, giving off its final glimpse of light for us to notice or not notice. Its planets will fade away, the life on them long gone, leaving the spheres floating cold and alone. Life begins, and life ends.

The Requiem Guard is smiling, much greater on the inside than outside. His laughter is steady and he nods agreeably as he hands you your comeuppance. "There will be another time. Another place." And life goes on.
