Why does the word 'demonstrate' have the word 'demon' in it?

Why does life last for a short time, and death for eternity?

Why can't I have dessert yet?

Why did ESRB change Oblivion's rating to M?

Why am I frustrated and fascinated at the same time with the AutoIt program?

Why do plants absorb all light except that of which is coloured green?

Why can't scientists accept that every piece of empty space in the universe is 0K? (Read that one carefully, it says zero kay, as in zero degrees Kelvin, rather than oh-kay.)

Why am I asking these questions?

Why are we at our most psychologically awake stage when we're asleep?

Why did Dasaria have to crash THIS weekend?

Why can't I walk through walls?

Why is it made so I CAN walk through walls in NwN2?

What would happen if all traces and knowledge of language in the world vanished midnight tonight, in EST?

Does time actually exist?

Sorry, I just had a million questions pop into my head, so I thought I'd ask you lot. Why don't I say 'Have a happy Friday (or saturday, for some of you)' right now? Well, because I'm going to state that in my next sentence, of course! :P

Happy Friday (Saturday to some)!

~Evelond~

And no, I haven't had any coffee, soda, or sugar today. Okay, I lied about that last one, I had pie. But that doesn't count.

demonstration
c.1374, from L. demonstrationem, from demonstrare, from de- "entirely" + monstrare "to point out, show," from monstrum "divine omen, wonder." Meaning "public show of feeling," usually with a mass meeting and a procession, is from 1839. Demonstrative, of persons, in the sense of "characterized by outward expression of feelings" is from 1819

demon
1387, from L. dæmon "spirit," from Gk. daimon (gen. daimonos) "lesser god, guiding spirit, tutelary deity," (sometimes including souls of the dead), used (with daimonion) in Christian Gk. translations and Vulgate for "god of the heathen" and "unclean spirit." Jewish authors earlier had employed the Gk. word in this sense, using it to render shedim "lords, idols" in the Septuagint, and Matt. viii.31 has daimones, translated as deofol in O.E., feend or deuil in M.E. The original mythological sense is sometimes written dæmon for purposes of distinction. The Demon of Socrates (1387) was a daimonion, a "divine principle or inward oracle." His accusers, and later the Church Fathers, however, represented this otherwise. The Demon Star (1895) is Beta Persei (in Ar. Algol "the Demon") so called because it visibly varies in brightness every three days. Fem. form demoness first attested 1638. Demonic is from 1662; demonize is from 1821.

Why did ESRB change Oblivion's rating to M?
Because you are too young to see boobies.

The plants being green thing is just the way light works. In essence every thing you see is all of the colors except for what you see.

So the inverse of the world you see is the true color of the world around you.

Why did ESRB change Oblivion's rating to M?
That would be thanks to people who managed to find that nudity was already skinned in the game. Hence people were angry that the developers KNEW that there would be topless-ness.

Why can't I have dessert yet? Because I already had it. ;) ~EF

Why did ESRB change Oblivion's rating to M? According to wikipedia, it's a mix of unnecessary depictions of violence, and a hard-to-access mod file shipped with the game that validate's Bronco's point. Stupid Bethesda, wish they'd just take the file out so it can go back down to T. ~EF

Why am I frustrated and fascinated at the same time with the AutoIt program? Because it is so hard to understand and because it has soo many possibilities, respectively. ~EF

By the way, WHY did you actually bother to respond to my questions?

You posted this while I was posting, and although according to Wikipedia that is correct, as well as depictions of blood and gore that were enhanced, detail-wise, after the rating of the game.

Of course. It's quite gruesome at some points, though there are some Rated T games that are worse.

Time is not linear. There is no past, there is no future. There is only now. Everything that once happened is either a memory or written down in history books.

That's one perspective of it, anyway.

Why can't scientists accept that every piece of empty space in the universe is 0K?

Ill take a stab at this one too even though im not quite sure what you are asking.

Scientists believe that the majority of the universe is not empty because there is an increasing amount of evidence that contradicts what the edicts of physics say should be occuring.

They have found that the expansion of the universe is actually accelerating, instead of decelerating as physics says gravity should be doing.

The so called dark-matter and dark-energy seem to be the inverse of gravity and matter. Thus as the effect of gravity decreases with distance, the effects of dark matter and dark energy actually seem to increase and serve to repel matter away from itself.

Thus long story short, they have evidence that someting more it there, but they have no idea what it is.

Why does life last for a short time, and death for eternity?
It depends on which religion you believe in. There are quiet a few religions who believe in reincarnation, meaning that once you die you will return in some form of lifeform. In that case life generally lasts longer.
The largest wound will come from those you considered friends.
