We Won't Forget You
Oh here I sit, late at night, alone and reminisce,
Great heroes of the land and how I miss.
Their deeds and stories and the empire gone,
Hoping, praying, for another brighter dawn.
Oh, gather all around and children listen,
Of heroes past, as deeds and names shall glisten.
Raeflyn E’Doras, swordsman supreme,
Glide upon the ground as in a dream.
Quick of hand and foot, and mind
And his friends repay in kind.
Holly Fortinbras, woman brave and Utu’s gaze,
Entire lines Varanites would raze.
Come down from Corda town,
Would seek the heir to the Crown.
Shalandra Velvax, azure eyes,
Hair like the wild blue skies.
Would strike fear in the hearts of men that saw
The Blue Blade of the West, such power, raw.
Kisanth Felmoon, knight divine,
Would bring justice, retribution, draw the line.
Girru’s loyal hand upon the earth,
Always stand up, fight, for all his worth.
Hunar Panthlen, master dwarf,
Would crash into the ‘nites, as a ship into a wharf.
Known for smashing skulls and Ale,
And his famous Hunar Panthlen mail.
Nather Meyer, great mage of ancient power,
Would always show when needed most, right on the hour.
With but a hand and thought would teach,
That death, every man and all around would reach.
Shee Raa, sweet siren of a bard,
Would dance and sing, tell stories, guard.
Make all those near,
Happy, smile and feel no fear.
Bracht Frostridge, cleric devout,
Come to Daris, seek no doubt
Anu, greatest of the gods,
To spread the word, against all odds.
R’ekaan Blackrose, druid of the lands,
Son of Varana, and now against it stands.
Cloaked in shadows, mist and veil,
No man can ever pick ‘is trail.
Telumehtar Ben’Kiriath,
Pray the gods you never feel his wrath.
Wielding Sword Saint Legacy, katana keen,
Skilled, virtuous and mien.
Flin Hearthstone simple dwarven man,
Ever loyal to his friends, his clan.
And take a great hammer to head
Of Varanites, but not a tear shed.
Elorian Fitztailor, known by most as but a story-teller,
With voice like that of angels, stellar.
Yet beneath still lay
That Harper soul, never giving sway.
Butch Hoofgaard, noble orcish fighter,
Gentle soul and make the world seem brighter.
Smash the ‘nites with his great golden axe
And always watch those near’s backs.
Popper, little halfling quick
Both foot and wit, and look to trick.
His greatest gift, enormous gob,
And Varanites would like to rob.
Desetha, oh, what can be said,
Assassin, stalk the shadows, Daris bred.
Skilful scout and graceful as a cat,
Enemies most often, on their back leave flat.
Vvulfen, barbarian of clan unknown,
Wielding a great axe the size his own.
Little ‘ling, with strength of two grown men,
And heart as almost ten.
Nara Moonsong, high priestess of Nanna-Sin,
Eyes like stars and silk-like skin.
Always in the company and rest,
Of Shalandra Velvax of the West.
Nobby Underfoot, little rogue with wit,
Run around, insult and kneecaps split
Of Varanites and friends alike,
And when you least expect it, strike.
Cirran Silverwind, archdruid of the grove,
At Ki’s bidding, come to walk the land and strove,
To bring Balance, evermore
With the lost druidic lore.
Salia Kiel, mighty high druid,
Shifting, moving graceful, fluid.
Although, all men she’d loathe and hate,
And when she’d strike, her force would n'er bate.
Bleveck Torinvhork, no mere dwarven man,
His fame, across horizons span.
Made sure that his clan, would rise again,
And through deeds, immortal fame would gain.
Spirithealer, monk of spirit clean,
Built into the forests green
A place where mind and body be at rest
And display the Serpent on their chest.
Shadow, though Nergal’s high-priest,
Never gave into the beast.
As he would help and heal, and then defend,
Daris from the ‘nites, whom to Nergal would send.
Oh, but every hero’n every story holds
Those villains, and listen closely as their tale unfolds.
As those heroes, lands and lives would will to save,
Others would love nothing but send them to their grave.
This is why those knaves are written in,
To fight heroes and try prevent a win.
Windy, The Morning Star,
Sent down from Varana to torment and scar
Heroes of this song and land.
Deadly, beautiful, graceful and grand.
G’elle, dreadful family of drow,
Where-ever would they walk, so blood would flow.
Great enemies of State and Queen,
Malice, evil, hate and swords so keen.
Kell Dy’ner, twisted dark elf,
Cared not for others but himself.
Meddled in affairs foul and death,
Try avoid his stinkin’ breath!
Rjekn Tw’illic, half-man, half-beast,
Upon the souls of living he would feast.
His banner, an enormous scythe, would carry
As he would track and slay his quarry.
Oh, I sit and stare at ruins of the splendid past
Watch as what the heroes won had turned to dust.
But then I recall, I see, I know
That new seeds shall ever grow.
New heroes shall be born and rise
Tell true stories, un-obscured by lies.
And old forgotten empires re-grown
As long as the immortal hope is thrown
Into the beating of men’s chests
Rise to challenges, and tests.
That is the task which you’ll fulfil,
So that we may drink and dine, and have our fill.
