I'm still alive!

Hello everyone! Been quite a few months now since I've last checked in.

For the last six months I've been at "Depot", the home of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police located in Regina, Saskatchewan. Long ways away from my home in the East.

I've been busier than I've ever been, and have had little time to think on anything but my training here. For some reason today has been a bit slower than normal and I thought of Dasaria and my friends here; wanted to swing by a let everyone know I'm thinking of them and that I do miss this place.

I'm (hopefully) going to be a Mountie in two weeks. 20 years working towards this and am as psyched as ever.

Good lord no. It was -33 degrees celsius on November 18th. Awake at 4:45 for breakfast and reveille, and marching down to the Mess is torture. Wind cuts like a dagger and there is no Force-issued balaclavas.

Lucky! Its been hot over here, 10 degrees Celsius and stale air. That might be worse then the maritimes, getting some snow.... But I'd kill for some snow and cooler weather!

Though there was one nice day where it was 5C with 50 km/h winds!

I hear in some parts of the prairies it'll drop to -10 with snow and still feel warm enough to go out in shorts and a t-shirt.

Yeah, haven't experienced the -10 but cool enough to wear shorts. Maybe if you're used to the biting -40 they get in the winter on a consistent basis.

All I know is that I've lived in northern BC, snow-belt Ontario and Nova Scotia. I've been to every province in Canada, seen the best and the worst, and I have *never* experienced the kind of relentless cold that a Saskatchewan wind can carry. And it's not even December yet.

Good thing I'm gone December 13th!

Takes 20 years to become a Mountie I didn't even know horses lived much longer than that or you swap horses all the time? (Doesn't take a genius to figure out I live in the City lol)
