"Baking problem"

Post by Luis4u »

Heya guys. I have a problem with "baking" the areas. When I want to bake an area, even with a start location only. My pc is doing something wrong. I am pressing "bake current area", it starts to bake but after baking the area still remains unbaked. Long time ago Rob send me and E-mail how to do it. I am doing it, in the same way, but after baking the file has only 300Kb and it should have about 20 Mb as Rob told me. Any ideas how to fix it?

Is this a new area, or something you've worked on before? Could it have a) been painted with the 'nonwalk' brush, or b) is it filled with a large number of placeables? Too many placeables / overlapping placeables / placeables on the border of a tile can cause the tile fail to bake.

Is this an interior or exterior area? What do you see if you select the "Surface Mesh" and "baked" on the top bar?

Rob helped me with the problem. There are two files missing after baking. The ERF file and one more. I am trying to re install NWN now :(
