Hey all, the point was raised in the IRC about why don't we have a Teamspeak 3/Ventrilo/Mumble server. Small servers don't exactly cost that much and I'd be willing to buy one for a month and see what happens, so I thought I'd post it up here and see what people think before I go ahead and get one.

Because roleplaying is not raiding, nor PVPing and you do not need to discuss OOC which tactics you're going to use to defeat the next boss.

That would be my guess at least.

As far as I know, the US base uses ventrilo. But it could be teamspeak too. They have one. Not sure who hosts it. Ask them.

-I- wouldn't spend money on things that I could get for free and Skype works too, doesn't it? There are plenty of communication devices that don't cost anything. How many people will you have in 1 chat anyways at 1 time? 10 consistenty?

I'm going to bet it's not worth the money. But then, people should do whatever they like, of course.

Btw, if you want to use teamspeak, you can set up a payment plan so that each teamspeak member can help with payment. I used it before for WoW raiding for my guild and it does really work a charm. Just thought to mention that in case someone could use the bit of info.

I'm personally looking at this being more community based rather than just Dasaria, so it wouldn't be intended to be used when you're playing in game. Instead it could be used more casually where we can have verbal conversations or play different games together and have a good laugh. Regarding the cost, these servers for let's say 10 people really don't cost much at all, in the past they have only cost around £3-4 which I don't mind covering. I'd like to give it a one month trail, if people use it and like it or not.
