Yet another question... Wandering NPC's?

Post by Vay »

What do you change so that your NPC's/creatures wander around (like nobles and commoners in Trades & Commons)? I'm sure this is a very basic function, but I haven't figured it out.

.... Yeah... Can you maybe put that in a little bit more simple terms for me, Rob? I'm not sure where to find that screen that you took a screenshot of, and/or I can't figure out how to reference those scripts that you named.

Select the creature you want to wander around.
Click the properties tab
Select the variables button
Click add
  • Name: NW_GENERIC_MASTER
    ValueInt: 8388608
    VariableType: Integer
Click OK

Your creature will now wander around.

There's a way to make them wander randomly between waypoints you set. Though that isn't what you asked for, I'll refer you here to the Toolset forum, you can find it in a sticky I think.

There was a module I played for NWN1 that had it set up that each night the NPC would walk home and you could follow them or wait until morning and watch them leave their homes.

Also if you went into their homes during the day they were not there and if at night you could find them sleeping in their beds (and kill them).
