A poster, written in perfect Varanite script on rare Golden Papyrus, adorns the official noticeboard near the entrance to Cear. The poster also has an official licence code and is signed by a Latishe Vaine. It reads:

Let it be known that Latishe Vaine, Priestess of Brintha, the Earthmother, hereby seeks to establish the Order of the Diamond, a crafting guild, in the Province of Dasaria. If you are a craftsman or craftswoman of merit, then please express your interest to the on-duty clerk at the Barracks.

Upon expression of interest the clerk shall provide you with more information about The Order of the Diamond. Expression of interest for future membership shall remain open for 7 days, after which if there is sufficient interest, a petition shall be raised for the considered review of his most wise and gracious representative of our Divine Emperor, Governor Verkethed.

"I'm with her! Sign me up!" Graham tells the appointed clerk in charge at the gaol, pointing to the official document just after it is completed. "The name's Graham Mantlegyr!"

*Amnon heads over to the barracks to have word with the clerk*

Pardon me. Is this the place for me to get more information about the Order of the Diamond? I am interested in the guild.

My name is Amnon Meshullam and I am well known in Cear as a Master Craftsman. I have supplied many adventurers across Dasaria with the finest weapons and armour, crafted from exotic materials like Adamantine and Mithral. I am currently studying to offer armour and weapon enchantments to my repertoir.

I would like to find out more information about the Order of the Diamond and include myself for consideration.

Returning from his foraging for rare and high quality components, Thrar notices a finely crafted poster near the entrance to Cear.

With a smile on his face he heads off to see the on-duty clerk at the barracks and sign up.

A gnome heading south on the road to Caer looks up and spots the notice on the wall. Curious, he steps to the side and gives it a closer look.

He then heads straight for the clerk at the barracks. Snippets of conversation can be heard by passers-by:

Yes sir, my name is Friam Fole. I'm interested in joining the Order of the Diamond. ...F-R-I-A-M...

Svirfneblin, sir. ...S-V-I-R-F...
Yes sir, gray gnome is fine sir.

He can be seen walking away with a smile on his face.

Though I am currently in the process of establishing my own guild of similar function, I would be highly interested in joining your group, and in the event that my own guild is established, I hope we can work together effectively.

In loosly elegant handwriting Jade Spirit makes a quiet note inquiery to the interest of being alchemicaly involved with the Diamond Guild. Noticing no one at the desk she wraps the note in a Topaz and leaves it on the desk.

She checks back periodicaly hoping the message is recieved anxiously.

*After reading the notice carefully for the third time, Sion Tir'ein runs a hand through his tousled hair, knocking his circlet askew. Then, silently balancing the benefits and deficits of a potential membership, he walks to the barracks seeking the aforementioned clerk muttering to himself as he properly aligns his circlet*

I suppose this would allow me to better aid my friends and allies...even though it is a guild of sorts.

*only slightly hesitating, he asks the clerk what he must sign in order to be contacted, and scrawls his name in a neat and compact script.*

Toman Ironarm, walking past the notice board, spots the gold papyrus and the diamond emblem, stops and backsteps to take a closer look, and begins reading slowely, mouthing the words

Craftin' guild? What dis den? ......tell da clerk dat yous interested in joinin' up? Haha! Dis be greats stuff! Me sure to find work in da town wid dis!

grinning broadly, he charges off towards the barracks to inform the clerk

A guild for crafters? sounds interesting, something someone of my ability should certainly be involved in....

*He smooths out his robe, checks that his circlet and hair are all in the correct place*

I wonder where this could lead, power? respect? nowhere?

*Writes a short note, then carefully rolls and seals the scroll*

To the recipient of this letter, I wish to be considered for entrance into the Order of the Diamond, I sense great things ahead of us.

*leaving the letter with the clerk, he walks slowly away considering his chosen path carefully.*

Enjoying his afternoon walk, Darius stands outside the gates of Cear and looks to the sky. *Ahh, a fine day it is* he notices as a breeze blows through his fiery red hair. He notices a slight rustling noise and turns about to see a finely written note posted. "Well, now...I have not noticed this before" he says to himself as he comes closer to the notice and begins to read it. " Well now! My, my! So, this is what Friam and Sirius spoke of..." He quickly makes his way to the barracks.
Darius finally locates the barrack and straightens up his robe and hair and then stands tall in front of the clerk, "I would like to make my intentions of wanting to be a part of this guild known." he says in a calm voice and matter of factly."Of, course, that is....if they, well...perhaps...would have me?" as he gives a wary smile and begins to figit a little. He looks down to the book to be signed and then looks to the clerk. Darius' pale face becomes flush as he smiles and scribes his name...."Darius McGregor".

Seeming to almost glimmer in the late-night moonlight, the extremely pale elf stands reading the notice, his expression blank and unwavering.
This could be ...advantageous, he thinks to himself, turning and walking slowly through the gates back into Cear, slipping the dark hood of his robes back over his head.


The clerk at the Cear Barraks would find the next morning, upon resuming her duties from the day before, a single folded page of fine vellum laying on top of her desk. Upon opening it she would find, written in a flowing elegant script, the following simple message:

As per a certain notice, penned by a certain Latishe of the House Vaine, I hereby express my interest in the formation of a certain guild, namely- The Order of the Diamond.

Let it be known that Amnon Meshullam, Paragon of the Order of the Diamond, Master Craftsman, and Arcane Practitioner, after having established the Order of the Diamond in the City of Cear, with the guidance of Latishe Veine, Priestess of Brintha, and Daughter of the Earth Mother, and with the assistance of Master Craftsman Friam Fole, does hereby officially open recruitment to the Order of the Diamond, a crafting guild, in the Province of Dasaria.

If you are a craftsman or craftswoman of merit, and you have expressed your intention to seek membership in the Order of the Diamond with the clerk, then you will be contacted shortly by either the Paragon or one of the Master Craftsmen.

We will conduct brief interviews to gauge interest, commitment, and current crafting skills. Once we have completed our work and closed recruitment, we will hold a Gala Celebration to mark the founding and triumphant launch of the Order of the Diamond. Details shall be provided later, but there will be much merriment, drink, live performances by established talents, and plenty of good fun for all.
