Hello..

Post by Wayan »

Hi there,
Just found my way here, after searching online for any Online offerings Nwn 2 had even at this early stage. I'm plesantly surprised at what I'm seeing here, although somewhat daunted by it at the same time. I'll admit now, I'm not by any means a D'n'D expert. infact newbie would be a more apt way to describe me, even if I've played a few d'n'd based cRPG's.

So I come here seeking a home to a.) get my feet wet in the whole Persistant world affair, and to b.) Get a real d'n'd experience, that can not be acheived by playing solo on the D'n'D computer games I've played.

I am wondering however, how this world and communty would receive a relatively inexperienced green player such as myself? also having skimmed through some of the background information available, I am wondering is there any essential reading I need to know to learn of this world? I was planning on going the hapless wanderer route as that usually means you need to know very little of the world your in, but still I'd like to give my character as well as myself at least a basic knowledge of the World, and its situation.

Thanks again for any help or welcomes that you may provide.

How do we treat newcomers? Why we abuse them mercilessly of course!

Ok, fine. We welcome them all with open arms. Glad you found your way here, I hope you find it enjoyable. We have a lot of talented people here who are (mostly) always more than happy to help with any questions, issues, whatever.

So welcome!

Keep in mind, the server is a little unstable right now... it has a mind of its own. So don't judge Dasaria by the server stability!

Welcome to Dasaria! I am new here, so won't be much of help, but what I have seen so far, made me stay here and see it through. I hope you find the same results for yourself.

With D&D rules, the best rule is just follow your instincts on how to create a character, how to role play him/her and how involve yourself in the story.

You're encouraged to read the background, yes. It will no doubt help you along your path to further understand the story. But it's not essential. What's essential is that you log in and have f.... ff.... ffff... fun! :D The basics that you'll learn is that you're now in the Empire of Varana, and your emperor's name is Marcus. Know that, and you can learn the rest by conversation with your traveler character. It might even be more interesting to learn the lore of the land that way!

Welcome to Dasaria.

feel free to seek aid or company with Gregor and Tana when we are on. just be warned that if Gregor smells stinky evil on you then the conversation will be gettin' tense. green is good and every one was a noobie once so have a great time.

What do you mean "was"? I am always a noobie and proud of it! It's like when a father grows up and forgets his childhood, then he doesn't know how to raise his son the right way. Never forget your childhood...aka noobie stage.

Hey welcome to Das!

I think if you're just true to your character, you'll be fine. Hope you enjoy :D

welcome. I came to Das with only FPS under my belt and I've still never pnp'd but look at me! I can *cower* *run* and *hide in the corner*. :)
the only essential reading, I imagine, would be of the rules/conduct section
I don't feel any shame, I won't apologise

Well thankyou for the warm welcome!
Just thought I'd let you know I'm still interested and still around, but it maybe a little while before any of you see me in game. I've decided to hold off a little, til I've at least completed the Single player campaign, and the game has a few more patches under its belt. I mean no disrespect to anyone when I say this so please don't talk it the wrong way. I tryed login on to the server the other day and played a little, and well the server lag, was really detrimental to my experience at the time. As well as the crashin it seems on area transition. So like I said I'm going to give it a little time before I join you all properly, but I'm still going to frequent these boards most likely for now if thats quite alright by you guys.

Thanks again.

Kind Regards,

Wayan
