The Hall of Champions

If you reply yes to four or less of the questions above you are welcome to join the Hall of Champions! Everyone who has survived the first challenge of the arena are welcome to join with the rest of the Champions to face more challenges! Please note that no one is required to become a slave to join the Hall of Champions. Everyone is welcome to join and fight, bleed and die according to their own free will!

Once a month a tournament will be held at the arena there the members of the Hall of Champions will duel each other, do team battle, or face exiting and lethal challenges. In between the members of the Hall are welcome to challenge each other on duels to their own leisure and the amusement of the citizens of Cear.

So, join the group that takes pain to give entertainment an edge!

OOC: The idea is that this would rather be a "social club" with in the game than a faction. Anyone is welcome and could be part of the Hall of Champions.
Why? Well, to be able to arrenge PvP battles in an organized way - and also to make larger events (the tournaments).
I have many ideas about the tournaments, but if the interest is big enough i believe the DMs will set up a forum for this (i've introduced the idea to the DMs and got "thumbs up" ). The idea is that the forum will be open for all.

So - the first step will be for those of you who are interested in this to show it in this thread and hopefully we'll soon have a forum to discuss this more.

As i said above, my thought (at least for the moment) is not to make this into an in game faction in the traditional sense, more like a way for all of us (and those of our chars) that are interested in trying pvp battles to have a way to do it in an organized way (i think of it as something of a fight club, some might attend regularly, others just come to visit from time to time).

The way i'd like it to work is that we'd have a forum here, open for all, that has two purposes. 1) To handle all the info, stats and arrangements around the monthly tournaments. 2) A section for challenging other chars to duels at the arena in between the tournaments.

The first part is what interests me most and hopefully there will be interest enough for these tournaments. Each month the rules in the tournament could be a bit different. From the standard - everything goes, to restrictions like unarmed battle or battle without any magical spells or enchanted equipment and so on. This would probably make it harder for the same char to win all of the time.

Since i personally like statistics it would be great to keep scores and different kind of statistics as well. I've noted the scoreboards at the arena, and maybe some kind of information could be put there by the dm:s after each tournament, but a scoreboard seems a must to have here in the forums...

If you have any ideas or thoughts, please share them! My guess is that the dm:s will pretty soon open a new forum for this there we can continue to discuss the arrangements.

Would these pvp bouts have characters of the same levels going against each other or is there a minimum level to fight, period?

I guess that will depend a bit on how many chars are willing to participate in the tournaments. These are things to be discussed, and there can be different rules and settings between different tournaments.

One way to have a tournament is the the two most low-level chars begin to fight eachother - the winner meets the next in line (3:rd lowest level). The winner contuniues through the line of combatatants and the one who wins the last match will be the winner of the entire tournament. Of course, the chars is healed after every battle.

Also, a system of scores could be added, giving the winner a different amount of scores depending upon the level of the defeated opponent.

I guess though that most would find it more interesting if the opponents were roughly the same level, so let's just hope the interest will be big enough!

In the first post i wrote that any who has survived the first round in the arena (defeating the heretics (and/or the beasts)) is welcome. This was mostly for in-game reasons, since the Hall of Champions is an area for those who have proven themselves in the arena. When it comes to tournaments and pvp duels it could of course be great fun to participate also with very low-level chars.

As you might note i have many ideas about this, but i'm also quite vague on the details. If the interest is big we can have many different competions each tournament for chars with roughly the same levels, if the interest is less we might decide to have a tournament purely for low-level chars one month, and one for higher-level chars the next and so on. The possibilities are endless and the solutions many!

I think Turebure's idea was that it be completly open to the public (If thats possible) so that anyone can read what is happening at any time. Though I'd get his confirmation, I know that if that is the case, I don't have access.

I see that nobody is using the faction subforum I set up for this... Turebure, you need to add members to your group via the User CP so that they can access the forum. If you want it open and not set up as a faction forum at all, we can do that too.

Hmm... Yes - my thought was to make it an open forum - not a faction forum, but open for all. So, if you could make it such, and hopefully keep the threads i've started, it would be great!
