Best Hunting Areas
Okay. I haven't done this in a while.
But, what are the best hunting areas (solo, if possible) for a human Level 15/16 hybrid fighter/WM/NW9/bard, and a Level 5ish human rogue/wizard/AT build, and a Level 5ish elven Ranger?
Thanks,
K
P.S. And if we could not let this thread degrade into a solo vs. group hunting lesson, I'd be appreciated.

Re: Best Hunting Areas
5ish hunting is definitely north of Cear, on the thoroughfare between cear and thralls, nowhere else really (if were just talking hunting pelts:P)
15/16 is Daris forest mainly i would say, although thats not a good solo place, a better solo place although maybe too easy would be west of two bridges or in the hills surrounding tristan and...(if your strong enough) north of tristan inbetween tristan and ravenswatch.

lvl 15/16 giants, orcs in lendose are harder than giants, yeild the same XP, but is another worth trying for quest xp.

There are 2 excellent areas for a level 5 rogue. But that's an IC conversation.

Been months since any of my chars gained Xp but unless they changed it don't forget to solo the Arena quests with your lvl 15/16 I still love that quest.

Yeah, I forgot about that. Thanks for the reminder. The Explorer wrote:Been months since any of my chars gained Xp but unless they changed it don't forget to solo the Arena quests with your lvl 15/16 I still love that quest.
And, it's not a level 5 rogue.. I should clarify. It's an Arcane Trickster build. So, currently she's in a world of pain at 2 rogue/3 wizard (and I'm strongly trying to resist rerolling her as a rogue/sorcerer)...
I can't seem to do giants with any given success with Edana either, not sure why. My tactics maybe. I can't do orcs without a group (and sometimes not even with one, as the other members of Argentum will tell you).
Any other advice would be grand.
Thanks,
K

At level 5 you can do Kalem, if you can find a good group of with atleast a couple in that level range.

I got one of those too, her name is Yasha, lvl 5, 2 rogue/3 wizardVahene wrote: And, it's not a level 5 rogue.. I should clarify. It's an Arcane Trickster build. So, currently she's in a world of pain at 2 rogue/3 wizard (and I'm strongly trying to resist rerolling her as a rogue/sorcerer)...
Re: Best Hunting Areas
Ravenwood Fey quest (Fana AND the King one in the cave) are soloable at 15/16, but you will need a magic resist item to avoid all those dispels. Also, the undead warehouse quest in RW is doable, but risky without good buffs. AC of 35+ helpful there.

Re: Best Hunting Areas
Lol Bobzim dude everything in Das is Soloable for you with all them wands you use infact I think your still the only one to solo the deadly Smokey quest without Dying - getting delvl'd and that quest has been ingame ages now.
Oh incase you haven't tried it Since they changed Tharon about see if you can solo that one as easily now.

Not everything, certainly not by non-cleric classes. Tharon is definitely harder. Not sure I would try to solo it on any but my rogue, and he would need a couple of wands (like DW and IMA).

I always found Monks both highly rewarding while hunting and -extremely- dangerous. Good combo.

Re: Best Hunting Areas
Yeah, but remember... My level 15/16 (whatever level she is this week) is a fighter/weapon's master/bard/NWN9 hybrid. So, where a single class might do well or better in an area, she most definitely does NOT. She dies. A lot. That's why its hard for me to find things she can kill on a regular basis other than wolves, boars and goblins (and someone, who shall remain nameless has this habit of making the goblins more fierce than they actually are whenever I do that...). My rogue/wizard Arcane Trickster build is even more complicated to hunt - essentially she's the equivalent of a level 2 wizard, even if she's level 5. In retrospect, the level 5 ranger might be a tad bit easier to deal with.

Re: Best Hunting Areas
Well Bobzim is around and on your timezone he's got a char for every need so can escort you anywhere in Das you want to go, I haven't been ingame the same time as you in months so I can't help. Rob is still around so you might want to get his Cleric on retainer lol, DM's are more readily available on your timezone you can try goeding them into giving you XP as long as you take screenshots of the results for me
I'm sure if you find your way into the IRC they'll be someone in there that can help as well, or the Deadliest approach make friends with some new PC's and see what happens.
