Ghost in the Shell aint that great, and youll be stretching to make any connections to Deus Ex. The series, Stand Alone Complex, is much better in my opinion.

Ghost In The Shell reminded me often of Blade Runner, and slightly the Matrix. And I loved the music, especially in the second movie.

Every once in a while comes an anime that is so stupid, so insulting to your intelligence, so utterly devoid of any saving grace, that you have to comment on it.
That's a review on "Colorful". I think it's good, it made me afraid of Japanese people untill the end of my days. Don't go there, they are all perverted.

I liked it in a really, really morbid kind of way. It was a little funny.

Isn't Colorful about a guy seeking for the ultimate female underwear? ^^;

Well, I suppose I'll just write about some of my fav anime...

I really enjoyed "Haibane Renmei" which can be very tensing yet peaceful at the same time. "Serial Experiments Lain" was very interesting and you can clearly see the that the characters were designed by the same artist from "Haibane Renmei". "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" is very hilarious and everyone is eagering for a second season. I enjoyed" Ergo Proxy" too (though the ending was kind of cliché), it was very interesting and I usually assume such anime are your typical "hero-syndrome" but Ergo rocked.

As for romance I enjoyed "Honey and Clover" and "Honey and Clover II". H&C even won some awards. Even though the harems "Air" and "Kanon 2006" had little to no romance, they were the most dramatic series I've ever watched... though Honey and Clover can be as dramatic, even though it doesn't have such serious situations.

By the way, there are two versions of the anime "Kanon". I've never watched the original one but I most likely won't.

Amongst others. ^^

It's very pubescent, very childish, very sexistic but -very- funny!

I'm not a big anime person, but I found a few that appealed to me.

Ninja Scroll

Ghost in the Shell

Dragon Ball Z - The Vegeta Saga and The Namek Saga. After these saga's, DBZ lost my interest. Another good DBZ is The Tree of Might movie.

Finally, I haven't watched many episodes, but the Full Metal Alchemist looks pretty good.

I almost forgot mt favorite anime set that I own. Looney Toons collection 1.
Among the greats on it.
Rabbit of Seville
What's up Doc?
The Scarlet pumpernickel
Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2th century.

With out these none of the others would be around.

Saw Spirited Away a few nights ago. It was -okay-. But not entirely mindblowing, I think.. Unless I missed out on something, heh.

Yes, I liked that one much better. I like heroes and drama.. Howls Moving Castle had much more of that. Haku was a little bit of a hero in Spirited Away, he was kinda cool, but he doesn't come close to what Howl is, or can be ^^ Besides, you gotta like the lil' fire, heheh.

Like the little fire? I loved it! :D

I think it was exceptionally cool how a demon in Western mythology has the connotation of being something of evil origin without question, but a demon in Japanese mythology (from what I understand) is more mischievous, but not necessarily mean-spirited or evil.

Being that I'm Western-bred, I kept thinking that the demon was going to bare its fangs eventually, but it was more of a chaotic neutral/chaotic good! Added a nice, but possibly unintended, element of tension.
