Conversely, since there is no actual lore on the drow, people don't have a history with the race and don't have the same inborn hatred and fear of them. From this perspective anyone who reacts to a member of the dark races using lore from another setting is meta gaming and therefore breaking one of the server's rules of conduct.

Should the players already using drow characters be running around killing, abducting, and enslaving then it's too late. But automatically reacting as if the race already deserves a death sentence might be wrong.
There is. Actually, it is linked to just two pages back in this very same thread.

I was also able to find a lot of information regarding drow on the old forums.

Takes all of ten minutes to get a feeling of the situation if you try to look for the information.

From what I understand, drow are barely tolerated because of their past actions. Since some seem to have helped Varana at times, it would appear they are granted certain degree of leniency in their presence within the Empire... and that is it. I doubt Joe Commoner has much love for, according to past incidents, a race of homicidal maniacs with sole interest in their own agenda.

Pressing page back twice in this thread will give you references to many such an example.

Ya I just read the post. I mentioned this a couple of days ago and got a different answer. I was going by that info. You know what they say about open mouth and insert foot.

No worries. It's just that tieflings receive so much unwarranted negative attention, you know?

Just trying to channel all that angst toward a race that really deserves it, is all.

Tieflings have a history as well. Search the old forums for Shala. All distrust against females with demonic blood can be laid at her feet.

I think I can live with that.

After all, the demonic blood is not required for such a perception coming from male side.

Wow. They actually learn.

I'm no demonspawn, that's all that I'm saying. All that's wrong with -me- is that I'm black. -You- have horns. -You- have a demon daddy or mommy.

You're the inherently evil one, not me. Tell me; how do you respond to holy water?

Yes blame it all on me..

You know we aren't supposed to be nice to everyone.. You play a Drow, you are evil. You play a Tiefling, you are evil.

That's how they are and that's how they will be seen/treated.

Oh and if you have issues teaming up with people. Try to find the other 'outcasts' and team up with them. That's a lot easier then meta-gaming your way in another party.

Don't mind me.. I am just stating my opinion

This is reason enough for Tieflings to be treated with a certain amount of suspicion.
It's just a game...

Everytime I read that it makes me wanna laugh. Hehe.. and it also makes me regret that Shala and Ivae never had that rematch. :)

It makes me regret that when she posted concerning her turning evil, that seemed to hint that their might have been a way to help her, that no one responded to her post for several weeks and by then it was too late.

Vahene > Yes I am sorry we never had a rematch but who knows :)

Mon-da-oth> I doubt it would have mattered.. Shala had always been evil from the start but never showed it. How's that for an actress? ;P

Alas. Some creatures just can't be saved. It is the way of things.

Hey, just because I have some traces of outsider blood in me doesn't mean I'm bad. Unlike some I could point at. Like, right now.

I might be half-demon, but you're all-murderer. And liar. I read about you. Shortly. I don't like goth stories.

I really don't think anybody should even listen to you, on account of all the lying and stuff.

Holy water? I like. It tingles, and is very good for cleaning out the pores. Good for skin.

I love all the comments saying "Oh there's no lore! You don't know we're evil!" And yet every one of the old Dasarians have repeated again and again that we have a massive long history of them in the first campaign.

Not only that, but you can't bring the Underdark over here from another campaign and yet leave the hatred and fear at the door.

One of the old Drow players should write up some history in the Dasarian setting about them so all players can get an idea of where they really fit.
