The last question I have is how would being rez'd rather than respawned affect this? I know rd and rez are buggy now but when they are working, will this be an undesirable workaround for ecl races to avoid lvl loss?

Yeah, I know...my last post was to Eowade. Should've hit the quote button.

I somehow suspect the main purpose it's going to end up being used for is to swap out choices made at level 20, though. It may as well read "Earn 2000/3000 experience, change some of your spells up" or "Change a feat."

I ...

I would institute the death penalty starting at the ecl lvl, not lvl 20. If a deep gnome dies at lvl 18, he is back to lvl 17. This whole process makes it almost impossible for the ecl race to stay above his ecl level unless he is careful and an extremely good rper. If he is a hated outlaw, it will ...

My suggestion was to make level loss automatic at death above ecl level. Also the 2da does have a hard xp cap at the max for a deep gnome to hit lvl 20, so there is no cushion for that subrace. Others do have a cushion but the automatic level loss would make a buffer meaningless.

Let me toss this random idea out there. Assuming there is no xp level cap, what about a death penalty that factors in the ECL adjustment as a multiplier to calculate said penalty (whether it is gold or xp).

So if a Human gets a penalty of x gold and y xp, then a Drow with an ECL of 2 would get a ...

I have agreed that something needs to be done to limit the power of the ecl races all along. I posted a possible solution here 2 weeks ago and I still think it is the best solution. Impose a level loss on death for the ecl races after they reach their ecl level. That will make it a challenge for ...

So, the benefit of doing that is that they keep getting the XP reward of a lower-level character?

And they can enter an area that has a level lock on it that should keep them out of that area. If the tower is closed to a level 15, a lvl 14 with enough xp for lvl 15 can still enter, kill stuff for ...

One thing I have noticed though, it that you don't really find any of the dark races at the higher levels in Dasaria. Most of them are either stifiled by the extra effort it takes to level up, or they made a dark elf/gnome/dwarf because they weren't very committed to sticking around anyway.

Or it ...

I am considering putting in a script that will reset your xp to whatever your level up limit is, but nothing has been implemented yet.

Exactly how would this help?

The passing level 20 bug is no longer exploitable, as NwN2's level cap is 20, so I don't see where this is going.

I think he is ...

I ran more tests after seeing the additional comments. I was never able to reproduce the added movement speed. I tried on other mods and no speed increase. I tried it on Das and ran against 3 other people while I was under battletide - wasn't faster than any of them.

One thing that only happened on ...

The green icon and the "hasted" listed at the bottom of the character sheet do not mean the same as the spell haste.

A Barbarian gets dr, a dd gets dr, several spells grant dr. They all have the same icon and the same 1-liner on the character sheet. NWN2 uses the same icons and descriptions for a ...

I guess my question is:

Why do you have so much stuff that you require another storage unit?

I agree with the decision to eliminate the bags. I brought up the server lag issue after I found a bag of my own. I would like to point out though that bags are not just for those who carry 100's of pots ...

I don't know. It works exactly like the description for me. Is it possible you are in a group with someone who is actually hasting themself? Haste is a party spell now so everyone in the area of the caster gets the haste effect. I just logged onto another module and cast battletide only. I got no ...

Battletide is not inherently "bugged" IMO. Rather their implementation does not exactly jibe with what the manual or spell info. says. Clearly, due to time constraints or what-have-you they decided that simply adding a haste effect was the way they were going to have to implement things.

You get ...

How would you handle characters that take 1 level of bard or sorc just to meet the prereqs for rdd? This combination seems as powergamerish as any of the other frequenlty mentioned ones. Is requiring 3 lvls of bard or sorc before allowing rdd more reasonable?
